Always eat where the locals eat

Great historic dinner with a lot of old time charm – just what we were looking for. We stopped for dinner on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. The soup was excellent! The seafood dinner (which I would never order in a dinner in NY or CT) was amazing and I couldn’t finish it all. Great food... read more

The food is excellent, the prices are very reasonable, and the service is friendly. This has become our favorite restaurant for breakfast. It is a great place to bring guests who are visiting. Today, we went with two of our children and their families. They are visiting from Texas and California, and we wanted them to have something unique to... More

The food was delicious, the waitress very friendly, but the diner was very dirty. The single bathroom was also very dirty. We were afraid to touch anything as the place really needs a good cleaning. Sitting in a booth we noticed the small window sills had very thick black dust.

One of the best breakfast ever had, especially quality/quantity of food vs price. I really like the "North of the border". Their breakfast potatoes are perfect. We've been wanting to try them for dinner - I follow them on Facebook and their daily specials always sound so yummy - but we like to eat dinner late and surprisingly they close... More

I liked the cosy old cottage-like diner look as we entered, booths and soda fountain style seating at the counter. But I didn't like the smell coming off the wooden booths. A strong damp moldy smell. Moved to the back room. The eggs and hash were good. Service was nice. Only one bathroom so I had to wait a few... More

On a Sunday, yelling names of people outside while waiting. Inside the service was good , food was ok.. Not nearly the best but not the worst.. Some of the patrons were a little smelly but the diner can't do anything about that ..

Loved our visit to this dinner. I had to go back again before we left. Best cream of turkey soup. Next visit best corned beef and cabbage soup. My sister had famous pancakes and loved them. Great fried chicken and meatloaf. I believe you can not go wrong in this dinner with anything you order. Both times we had great... More

Diner food is always great! The service was fast and polite, coffee cup never got empty. If you like corned beef hash you'll LOVE theirs!!

Absolutely LOVED this quaint diner. It has been featured on the Food Network due to their pancakes. My husband ordered and enjoyed them. I had fantastic clam chowder as well as a typical Turkey dinner. Simple meals made well for a low price. We will stop there next time we are in the area.

Stopped here for lunch on the way home from a White Mountains vacation. Usual diner fare, done well. Had the Monte Cristo and fries, no complaints. My wife had the blue cheese burger, I had a bite and it was perfect. Parking is a bit tight, there are payspots on Main Street and also a small lot behind the restaurant.... More
