This is a typical "old-school" diner... in fact, the menu has a story of the building and it came from the diner manufacturing company in NJ that makes all of the rail-car looking diners. This also means that there are roughly 6 booths and bar-style seating.... so be prepared for a wait- but it's worth it! The diner is cash... More

I knew I wanted to try this place the second I saw it. The old-school, classic diner from the 50's. I ordered breakfast food, as you should at a place like this. Coffee, good. Eggs, perfectly cooked over medium. Corned-beef hash, very tasty. I wish I ate breakfast here every day of our trip.

Great place for a good old-fashioned diner. The food was basic and hearty. The price is right, too. The only down side is that this is a cash-only diner, so no plastic here. So bring a little cash and enjoy. This is our new favorite breakfast place in the area!

We arrived on 9/28/14 on a fall foliage tour of New England. The owner of the hotel said the Sunny Day Diner was a good one for Sunday morning. Sure enough my wife and I pulled in to just find the last parking spot as someone pulled out. It was a true old fashion stainless steel diner from the '40's... More

We've been to a few "phantom gourmet" places, and they never seem to be very special. The servers were friendly, it was clean, and the food was okay. The portions are pretty small, especially for the price. The steak tips were bland, they tasted a little like pepper, but that was it. The French toast was pretty good, slightly undercooked.... More

Best breakfast in North Woodstock. Very friendly staff and classic diner decor. Walked across the street after breakfast to peek at the bears at Clark's. I had the fried egg sandwich on raisin toast. Yum!

It seemed like everywhere we planned to go was closed, so we ended up here. The hash browns were really good, everything else was good (average). The kids had Mickey Mouse pancakes which was fun. After ordering I saw a banana bread french toast special which I wished I saw before ordering. I would go back, but there are other... More

The diner was packed but I don't think it was from repeat customers. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich which consisted of sliced sandwich meat served over uneatable stuffing and soggy bread. There was about a teaspoon of gravy dribbled over the mess with fries on the side. Not the warm comfort food I was expecting.
