Definitely a local's spot, you'll get a very inexpensive freshly-cooked meal. I've only been for lunch, and had basic sandwiches and soups. I've found the service friendly and attentive. For those who felt like an outsider if they weren't a local, maybe using the quirky pronunciation will give you an in.

Open for breakfast and lunch. Small little place that is usually packed. Expect a wait for breakfast, but it's worth it.

Great neighborhood feel, good food cooked in plain site, value for money, coffee is a little weak, but drinkable.

since the place was packed with locals i expected good food. from what i could see on other tables, if i ever return (unlikely) i'd stick with pancakes. my omelet was perhaps the worst i ever had in a diner (oily, undercooked, stingy portion of unappetizing ham, eggs not beaten sufficiently). wife's eggs over with bacon were marginally ok. you... My husband and I were looking for a place for lunch on our way home from a weekend away and this place was recommended by a "local". Place is very small and "tight" fitting with tables and chairs. Staff wasn't very quick to greet or seat you. We found a small table in the back and there were flies flying... More

If you are looking for good cooking at reasonable prices - Shyrl's Diner is hard to beat. it's a little crowded at times, but that adds to the charm.

With memorial photos of septuagenarian waitresses, the choice of homemade toast, and the atmosphere you remember from Grandma's kitchen, Shyrl's Diner is better than cooking at home. Real maple syrup is your only option for their overloaded blueberry pancakes. West Lebanon's best breakfast choice!!!

I have eaten here twice and I don't know what it is but the place and people in general totally creep me out here. The food is average, I can make a better breakfast at home. I get the feeling unless you know the owners you are a total outsider.
