Local Diner

My spouse was still in the mood for breakfast and I wanted lunch, as in usual diner fashion, we were able to get both. I had driven by here more time than I can recall, and saw it was limited in space and hours, but was curious as to why it was usually busy. It is the true to the... read more

This is a small diner right on the main street - parking is very limited, and they close at 2PM. The food was average and the prices seemed a bit high for the area.

Stopped here for breakfast: Worst pancakes ever; poor service from unfriendly waitress; never asked if food ok or refilled water or coffee. Sorry we stopped here----never again.

Definitely a local's spot, you'll get a very inexpensive freshly-cooked meal. I've only been for lunch, and had basic sandwiches and soups. I've found the service friendly and attentive. For those who felt like an outsider if they weren't a local, maybe using the quirky pronunciation will give you an in.

Open for breakfast and lunch. Small little place that is usually packed. Expect a wait for breakfast, but it's worth it.

Great neighborhood feel, good food cooked in plain site, value for money, coffee is a little weak, but drinkable.

since the place was packed with locals i expected good food. from what i could see on other tables, if i ever return (unlikely) i'd stick with pancakes. my omelet was perhaps the worst i ever had in a diner (oily, undercooked, stingy portion of unappetizing ham, eggs not beaten sufficiently). wife's eggs over with bacon were marginally ok. you... My husband and I were looking for a place for lunch on our way home from a weekend away and this place was recommended by a "local". Place is very small and "tight" fitting with tables and chairs. Staff wasn't very quick to greet or seat you. We found a small table in the back and there were flies flying... More

If you are looking for good cooking at reasonable prices - Shyrl's Diner is hard to beat. it's a little crowded at times, but that adds to the charm.
