This roadside stand had lots of people at it, so seemed like a good choice for lunch, but neither of us were happy with our food and the ambiance was lacking.

My friends suggested we go to Tamarack and warned us in advance the lack of ambiance is not reflected in the price!!!! I had the lobster roll which was very tasty and had a lot of fresh lobster meat. We also ordered the clam shrimps which was the best I ever had. My wife had the grilled chicken salad which... More

For decades Tamarack was the go to for to go summer drive in treats. Their reputation was built on their "lobstah" rolls. True to form the lobster rolls were generously over filled with large pieces of lobster meat in a mayonnaise dressing. The haddock sandwich was a good sized piece of fish on a fresh roll with plenty of tartar... More

We have been going to the Tamarack for many years and always look forward to the lobster rolls! Well, we were sooo disappointed not only in the food but the place appears as if it has never been Cleaned! The picnic tables were rotten and filthy , the trash was over flowing and it was only 4! The indoor eating... More

My very good rating applies to the SEAFOOD only. Everything else was, as Mary W said, barely average. We stayed in Meredith last week and drove back and forth by Tamarack a number of times. I look forward to an order of "roadside" clam strips every summer and knew that Tamarack would deliver. We waited along time for our food... More

We stopped at the Tamarack Restaurant on our way through Laconia as a group of 7. My husband and I each ordered a two combo dinner. I got the whole belly clams and sea scallops. He got the shrimp and whole belly clams. We upgraded with onion rings. I found the portion to be pretty small for the price. We... More

I thought I was glad the Tamarack was open yesterday. I had a great lobster roll and my husband had a great shrimp roll, both very fresh with generous portions BUT... the place is FILTHY and very run down. The owners have all winter to clean things like their trash cans (which I don't think have ever been cleaned) ,... More

We would always stop for a lobster roll....again many moons ago because it was the Best around and worth the 2 hour ride up! NOT ANYMORE! Horrible. Dirty, and run down. The lobster rolls were now served in a small hotdog roll and not much in it for the money! Scratch that fond memory off my lobster roll list!! Very... More

I have not been to Tamarack in about 15 years and have fond memories of pretty good seafood. Quite a bit has changed: 1. $15.00 for a mediocre lobster roll on a hot dog bun -- not a very generous portion and for $1.00 more you get a side of fries and paid for a "tiny" side of inedible cole... We drove out of way on Monday to eat here as we wanted seafood and heard it was good. When we got there they were out of everything we wanted so disappointed. How can you be a seafood place in the middle of high season and running out of things. I am not normally this hard on a place but... More

Brandy, you have my sincere apologies! It's a bit of a balancing act ordering seafood. The last thing I want is to under-order and be forced to tell a customer I'm out of something. The next to the last thing I want is to over order and have seafood sit around, I won't sell ANYTHING that isn't of the best... More
