fresh and flavorful

This was recommended by a student at Keene State during a visit today. As soon as we walked in, the smell of fresh pesto greeted us, and they had crackers and various sauces set out to sample. I ordered the lobster bisque - $17 but what a treat! Delcious flavor, fresh bread to dip in it, and many... read more

Outstanding real seafood chowder (made oldstyle: fresh haddock and Maine shrimp, perfectly seasoned, not thick like gruel), a generous chef's salad, savory bacon-onion dressing, home-baked breads, hot mulled local cider, NH craft beers, outdoor seating on one of the prettiest Main Streets in New England!

What was Fresh? The guy at the counter. Did not smile, made very little eye contact, and seemed to have an attitude and air about him. Signs all over the place about different rules. I've never seen anything like that at a restaurant. What wasn't Fresh? The food. Behind the counter are multiple microwaves and the staff make no attempt... More

I don't think I've ever experienced an attitude from an "owner" of an eating establishment like I did at this dump. First of all, not sure they should be calling this place fresh when they have 5 microwaves in plain view. But about the service, we were traveling with a five year old and she wanted subway, so my wife... More

We happened upon this little restaurant as we were hungry and needed lunch. Everything on the menu appeared to be freshly made daily, was unique, and sounded good. It seemed that our order was taken by the proprietor who actually warned that the black and white bean chili (wonderful) was spicy. It was, and I loved it. My daughter had... More

We ordered the shrimp/lobster/haddock soup and the salmon mac n cheese, both with ciabatta bread. The restaurant is perfectly decorated and homely. The service was very fast. The mac n cheese was perfect but the soup lacked a strong enough flavor.

Everything about our experience was exceptional. Three of us dined outside and each had a different salad. The ingredients are fresh and local, the dressings and bread are made in shop and the attention to detail is reflected in the food. The ice cubes in our drinks were even infused with fresh fruit! We'll be back~

On a recent business trip I happened into this restaurant to have dinner. An interesting menu with lots of fresh, healthy, homemade choices. I ordered the "Keene Klub Salad" with maple mustard dressing and my friend ordered the New England Seafood Chowder. First off, the portions were most generous! The freshness of the salad and the overall taste of both... More

Owner was incredibly friendly. Salads and sandwiches were promptly served and delicious. Excellent iced chai tea. Will definitely return. Thanks!
