We always plan to dine at THE when in the Jackson area, so it was the biggest disappointment of our most recent trip that the restaurant closed its doors a few weeks ago. We'd been going there since it opened as a "summer only" place a few decades ago.

We loved our visit to the T.H.E.! Even on a windy, rainy night the back deck, protected by side curtains was warm, cozy and relaxing. Loved the assortment of vintage linen table clothes they use, the food was outstanding, the service was spot on. It would be fair to say that the food, instead of being prepared, was artfully crafted.... More

We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the T.H.E. and were so sad to learn that it is now closed. The service was fabulous, the owners cordial and welcoming as they greeted old friends and new patrons with equal grace and attention. We wish them the very best as they move on to new endeavors.

For 30 plus years, THE set the standard in the Valley! What an amazing ride! THE closing leaves a "Zorba the Grape" sized hole in my culinary adventures! A class act, all the way to the last chocolate truffle! If your reading this, it's already too late! I had a dream last night....... THE owners walking on a beach, hand... More

We are extremely sad they are closing, but wish the owners lots of happiness in their future endeavors. We have had many wonderful memories at The Thompson House. The food, atmosphere and staff was incredible.

As soon as we heard T.H.E was closing I made reservations to stay at the Inn at Jackson and T.H.E. Hard to believe. Our meal tonight was amazing. It was also saying good-bye to wonderful friends after all these years. If you're in the area and you've never tried Thompson House by all means, get there before the 30th. We... More

We understand they are closing, but they have set a standard for the whole area. They will be missed

It will be a sad day for the locals if the owners/chef retires shortly as is rumoured. In a two week holiday in New England, the Thompson House stands out as by far the best place we ate in. A very vibrant and warm atmosphere pervades the restaurant. The menu is interesting and inventive. Every angle is covered with a... More
