We had dinner at the shovel handle pub whilst staying in the White Mountains, it was recommended by our host but we weren't sure it would suit us. We were wrong, it was a great evening and rounded off our holiday very nicely. The meal was excellent accompanied by some great music and good service at a reasonable price.

The food is outstanding--definitely much better than expected. The atmosphere was amazing--an old barn updated to a restaurant. The live entertainment was very enjoyable and a definite pleasant surprise. Service was great. We'll definitely be back!

I would like to say this is a unique pub in Jackson, NH that we enjoyed very much. The Shovel Handle Pub is in an old barn, with many levels in a nice country setting with nice ambiance. The food was very good, the live music was enjoyable and the service was good. I would say it is not a... More

The food here is wonderful! I also really like the entertainment and the informal atmosphere. It is a great apres ski destination.

Great "Night Life" atmosphere. Loved the live entertainment (John ?). Good service and the food was excellent. I had the fresh grilled Salmon and it was the best! I'll be back!

We were recommended this venue as only staying for one night in a nearby hotel. We had a quick look at it during the day and decided it looked fine for an evening meal. We realised this establishment was a grill rather than any kind of fine dining, and that was just what we were after for one night. We... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owners of the cabin we rented. We appreciated the recommendation as the food was very good and the ambience was very charming. The portions were rather small for the price, but the food was good. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. Even though we dined at an early hour,... More

We had to head over to Jackson from Intervale to go to the transfer station and thought we'd stop somewhere for a drink rather than heading straight back to the house. I googled "pub Jackson NH" and this place popped up. When we arrived we were so impressed with the decor and ambience as well as the super friendly staff... More

The setting is excellent & the service is very good...the food, however, was less than awesome this visit. It wasn't bad...just not what we have come to expect from this place. I really wish they would bring back the broccoli rabe...that was my most favorite thing that has ever been on their menu.

We went on a Thursday night. A friend had told us about the Thursday night special which is $39 for two entrees-choice of menu and a bottle of wine. The restaurant is charming in that it is an old barn built on many levels with twinkling lights and a real rustic feel. We were seated in what I believe was... More
