Fantastic Hanover Tradition

Lou's restaurant is so busy that there is usually a line out the door. I hardly ever wait for anything, but I am so glad my daughter and I did. Their pastries are out of this world!

Had breakfast there, prices were good, food was delicious, lots of tempting baked goods, they were even selling them outside the restaurant so if you didn't have time to sit and enjoy, you could still partake. We all had full breakfasts that arrived quickly and were great. Our waitress was super-nice, made us feel at home and we loved our... More

This place is worth driving forever to get to. The breakfast is something you wont forget, as it is huge, which is easy to do but the quality is impeccable. We split an omelet which was so big there would have been no way we could have each had one alone. It was the best omelet, bar none, I have... More

The place to be on Sunday morning. Get there early. It also is the place for Dartmouth undergraduates to come as well. Everything is great but prices are not cheap what you pay for. Service is excellent. You'll feel that you have stepped back in time . . which is a good thing.

Show up early, Lou's will have a line for breakfast. Don't panic, it moves quickly. Everything we sampled was wonderful - the muffins, omelets, french toast, etc. Service was both friendly and efficient.

I've never had a breakfast I've never loved, from eggs and toast to omelets, pie, the milkshakes are to die for.

Wonderful corned beef hash. We did have to wait about 20 minutes on a sunday morning but it was well worth it. Everyone in our party loved their food. The old pictures on the walls and the tin ceiling are great. If they took names for a wait list it might be marginally better but why mess with what has... More

This notable and historic cafe is in the heart of downtown and essential for all sorts of breakfast fare, baked goods, and Belgian waffles. One of our favorite stops for morning eats, but get there early to avoid the lines. Love Lou's.
