We got to Lou's at about 9:00 for breakfast. The wait was really long, so one of our party waited the 20 minutes for us and called us to come when we were ready. The food was well worth the wait though. I got the Belgian Waffle and it was fantastic. Also, you must try the donuts. We got a... More

This is THE PLACE for breakfast in Hanover (maybe other meals, too, but I've only had breakfast). You have to enjoy elbow to elbow seating and a louder humdrum noise, but the food is great, and the service, too. Often will see people lined up to get in, the tell-tale sign of a popular spot.

We queued for 30 mins and the another 20 for our order to arrive. It's very authentic and a great experience, treat it as an attraction as well as a restaurant. My little Green and wife's granola, fresh fruit and Greek yogurt was ample, enabled us to share the tastes and carried us through to dinner. Becky was a very special... More

My sister and I arrived around 9:30 a.m. on a Friday morning and it was about a 20 minute wait to be seated. Even the counter was full. The wait is what I would have expected for a weekend, so having that on a Friday is indicative of Lou's popularity. Service was efficient and breakfast was great. My sister had... More

Lou's is a Hanover icon, and it would be very difficult to be disappointed in the food served for breakfast. Very efficient service.

Our group of six arrived at Lou's at prime time on a Sunday, just after church gets out and students have finally awakened... It was a beautiful fall day with warm sun and leafy colors all around, so it was no hardship to wait outside where the restaurant had arranged ready sidewalk access to coffee, donuts, muffins and coffee cake.... We ate here for a late breakfast around 10am on a weekday. There was no wait but there was a steady flow of customers. We got a triangular shaped table just big enough for two. The choices were plentiful for breakfast. The food came out hot without a long wait. The waitress kept coming by to keep our coffees hot.... More

This is a diner in a college town where we stopped for lunch. It had what seemed to be wholesome ingredients, but none of the food was particularly notable. We had heard raves about the breakfasts and expected better. Each item we sampled (3) was bland and lacked seasoning. Service was cordial, but rather slow for the typical diner. It... More

You can always tell a breakfast spot by the size of its line and Lou's line was pretty long but well worth the wait. The diner has all the regular breakfast items you'd want but unlike most places of its ilk, it is not greasy and we felt good after our omelets and hash. We'll be back here for sure.

Arriving in Hanover before check-in time, we headed for Lou's for a quick lunch. For a diner-type restaurant, the food was good and the price was reasonable. The service, however, was somewhat slow. If you want this kind of establishment, it deserves four stars. If not, not.
