I went to Lou's with a party of six last weekend. My daughter has food allergies and we needed to ask some ingredient questions. After the waitress told us the ingredients in the hot dog bun were "bread," we asked to speak to a manager. We waited about 10 minutes but no manager came over, and the waitress didn't return.... more

The food is fine but overpriced. Utensil kits (small plate, napkin, plasticware) were available for food to go for $2.95. Those items would be free where we come from. This was our second visit to this restaurant but we will not go back. more

I have eaten at Lou's three times--twice for breakfast and once for lunch. Lunch was dull but OK, but breakfast was terrible. My two breakfast visits were three or four years apart and the first time I thought that maybe they just were having a bad day. I had a standard breakfast--eggs, bacon, homefries, toast--the first time, and the same... more

After reading the last review, I had to comment. My son goes to Dartmouth and Lou's is not only one of his favorite spots but also mine. We have had so many good times and good eats there--I always thank God it is still around--I consider it an historic treasure! Now, let me qualify a bit. Not everything is great... more

Really good breakfasts such as you'd experience in a really good diner. Plus has some wonderful cakes; pies etc. On one visit recieved cold breakfast potatoes which we didnt have time to return; we mentioned it to waitress and they gave us a gift of some pastry to say sorry. The place to go for cooked breakfasts and atmosphere. Good... more

Lou's is a Hanover institution. When Lou himself died several years ago, stores closed, and most of the town came out for his funeral procession. There are people who have gone there for breakfast every day for over thirty years. It used to be lined with pictures of the regular customers. The new owners in the mid-1980's tried to do... more
