My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch today. We were blown away by the great sandwiches. The panini was excellent, the thin ham the most delicious we've had in a deli. Same with the Bertie Wooster that I got. Overflowing with turkey, greens (all very fresh, no iceberg here!), crispy bacon and apple slices. For a sweet... More

I don't like giving bad reviews so I’ll keep it short. It was busy when we arrived at approximately 11 a.m. on a Saturday but that's to be expected. We ordered 2 lattes, a danish, a croissant and a fruit tart. Both the crossaint and the danish were stale. Croissants are not supposed to be crunchy. The fruit tart was... More

Wonderful place for breakfast or lunch. Wood floors. Old world charm. Fabulous food. And the coffee - whether you're a fan of drip or prefer a cappuccino with extra shots - is far superior to the nearby Starbucks.

Umpleby's is a really nice cafe located across the street from the SSS hotel. Delicious healthy sandwiches, good salads and yummy meat pies in a cozy and comfortable interior. Sandwiches are made per order and you have a choice of wheat, rye or sour dough bread.

I'm eating much more lightly than I used to, which makes going to Umpleby's a significant challenge these days... I'm much more tempted by all the baked goods and sweets there than I am anywhere else. I particularly love the meat pies and egg pies which you won't find in other bakeries in the Upper Valley. They're all top notch.... More

I came here for a quick lunch. It is a good place to eat since inside is spacious and there are also tables outside and free wifi. I had the mungo park sandwich, which was tasty, but a little small for the $8 price. The desserts and the assortment of savory pies looked really good. I wish I had tried... More

Dartmouth Graduation weekend and this little bakery is jammed with overflow from Starbuck's across the street. What a contrast! Intimate ambience (though a bit loud), jolting java, nice, nice scones....and friendly counter help. Local art on the walls, eclectic music soft enough to work in, and my dogs are asleep on the floor under my table. A hangout for faculty... More

I love this local bakery in Hanover. It's off the main drag and usually you can find a seat when you walk in. The lunch items are fantastic and the bakery smells like heaven when you walk in.

Umpleby was recommended to me by a Dartmouth student who overheard me ask for nearby cafes where I can sit and work. Very nice place! It's small and not modern by any means but it's old school cute. I ordered a hot chocolate and croissant. Both were delish. There's a usual morning rush but the place never got crowded until... More

food is good. Fresh. Breads are great. Service is a different story. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted by people who acted as if they could care less if I was there. Ignored is more the word. Didn't go back.
