The Old Salt always serves the most delicious food. Large portions and prepared to perfection. The ambiance is so welcoming. High ceilings, fireplace, roomy comfy booths. If visiting soon try the Pumpkin Martini. It is yummy.

Very accommodating service and good food. Nice selection of craft brews. Nice breakfast buffet. Not your usual chain motel selection of prepackaged food.

We ate dinner here while staying at Lamie's. The restaurant and the grounds around it were decorated up for Halloween (including ghouls seated at some of the tables) and this was a really fun touch. While they serve steak and seafood, there did not seem to be a "surf and turf" option on the menu. So, we both had seafood... More

I ate here with my daughter and ordered the clam chowder. We agreed it was the best chowder we ever had. It was so creamy, chuck full of clams, potatoes. I ordered the Fried Scallops Dinner, my daughter ordered Broiled Haddock dinner. Both were delicious.

This place has a Sunday brunch buffet that's very reasonably priced, especially considering the variety and quality of the food. Make a reservation, you'll need it, and ask for a booth, you'll like it. Be prepared to eat a lot, because there are lots of entrees and deserts and all of them are carefully prepared. It's a popular Sunday eating... More

I have always felt somewhat out of step not liking the Old Salt. I find the dining room dreary, bordering on dingy. The food is about average. The crowds are always big. I have just not understood it. Recently, we tried again as we had a gift certificate. This time we visited the lounge. What a difference! It is brighter,... More

We were staying next door (attached) at Lammies Inn and wanted a little snack as we arrived late on our travels. We headed over to The Old Salt about 8:30pm in the evening. It turns out this must be a popular place as there were quite a few people there having dinner. We decided to just sit at the bar... More

Everything from lobster rolls to salads and burgers. Good variety and value. Service was very good. Harvest salad had goat cheese and roasted butternut squash...a different combo that really worked.
