OK here's the thing: If you're anything like us you gave up bringing along a nice outfit to wear out to dinner on vacation at some point after you had kids. For whatever reason. We walked in feeling like we were somewhere a little too fancy (from the beach) and were welcomed, chatted to, fed VERY well by friendly people... more

On our first day at Hampton, my son and I decided to always have dinner at the Old Salt and we never regretted that decision. The lobster was wonderfully tasty and quite inexpensive. The waitresses were so friendly and professional. We couldn't ask for a better restaurant. We loved the clam chowder so much, we bought a whole case to... more

The restaurant is excellent. The atmosphere is rustic beautiful wood interior. The fireplace is huge and the fire was cozy. Sat right in front of it. The service was impecable (Marcia was the server). I enjoyed the broiled scallops, perfect carrots and herbed rice. A must, must. more

Great food. Warm, old-worldy surroundings. Prices are reasonable. Service has been a little slipshod of late...but could be just the busyness of the season. They also have a great brunch buffet on Sunday....the best around. more

The atmosphere is rustic , the service great, the prices and portions good, and the food is super fresh! I have tried just about everything on the menu. The tomato soup and shrimp coctail (jumbo) are spectacular. Don't miss the vegas style buffet on Sunday mornings 9:30-1:30!!!!! We go back again and again and we live 95 miles away! more

Decent standards- baked stuffed shrimp, broiled scallops, fish and chips. Nothing that blows you away. more

The Old Salt at Lamie's Inn & Tavern is a great place to go when visiting Hampton Beach. It's out on Rte 1, but is only a short ride away from the beach. They offer an early bird special for $12.95. You get an appetizer, main meal and dessert for the$12.95. I ordered clam chower and baked boston schrod. Everything... more

We were staying at Hampton Beach and wanted to get away from the downtown scene and have a lovely dinner. A local directed us to this restaurant. The fish and chips were amazing, the rolls were really good and the service was great. I would go back tonight if I could! more

My family has eaten at this place a few times and it always passes with a fair review. Seafood items are and seem to be prepared fresh daily, but lack the overall taste test that makes you want to crave for more. Clam chowder is the best, the only disappointment was the 10 inch black hair that I found half... more
