We stayed at Lamie's Inn and ate every morning and evening at The Old Salt. We had dinner in the dining room, delicious seafood, nachos in the lounge, also excellent, Thanksgiving dinner was superb, and every morniig continental breakfast was complimentary. We also had drinks in the lounge. We would definitely return when in the area.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I am giving an excellent review to this restaurant based on mulitple visits, but ALL of those visits were for brunch. I have zero experience with anything not on the brunch menu. The Old Salt has an absolutely fantastic buffet. Top notch. Many choices, all of high quality, both for main courses and desserts. I ate so much... More

This was a halfway mark from where we were meeting my Mother's friend. I chose this restaurant because it sounded unique and not the typical restaurant chain. Going in, we were greeted by a very friendly staff. We all had the Haddock in Lobster Sauce...and OMG! The portion was very generous, with huge pieces of lobster, and it tasted like... More

Our neighborhood ladies group chose The Old Salt for our Christmas Party. The buffet was very crowded on a Sunday morning, but well worth the visit. For 17.99 there is a vast variety of foods, from breakfast eggs, omlettes, cereals, creeps, fruits, etc to luncheon choices like beef, chicken, turkey and many side dishes. The desserts were great with an... More

My group of retirees from work decided to have a get together lunch at the Olde Salt before Thanksgiving. I haven't been there in quite some time because of poor past experiences. In any event, I ordered a turkey Reuben with fries ($9.99). When the sandwich was served it had two thin slices of deli turkey, one slice of melted... More

In a convenient spot, nice warm weather , we sat outside. Our waitress was more concerned with waiting on the table behind us where her boyfriend was seated . Took her awhile to wait in us never giving us her full attention! Our meals were average , meals are more fast food type, pre cooked! Will not rush to return... More

This was the best restaurant we tried in the Hampton area. Great food and huge portions, friendly folks and a great atmosphere. Lots of history in this place, a real New England feel and plenty of area specialties. I had the fisherman's platter, and it was so much food I couldn't even finish it, which is rare for me! Highly... More

We usually go to the Old Salt Tavern twice a month. We love the atmosphere, the decor, the staff and that they have live music. I've had a couple bad experiences in the main dining room, however always have a good experiences in the tavern. Definitely try the tortellini, I usually add the steak tips (which are to die for)... On the way to Maine, again stopped at Old Salt for lunch. Haddock chunks and fries in a basket. Plenty of fish, lightly battered, and tasty fries. Menu has everything so there will be something you'll like. Great interior space - lots of old wood like an opt tavern, which it is. All decorated up for a special Halloween night.... More
