In the past our dining experiences at Galley Hatch have been less than favorable. On a recent visit to Galley Hatch it was memorable. Our party of 4 all had their perfectly served Prime Rib. One of our guest ordered the 56 oz. medium Prime Rib and it was done to perfection, and yes he ate it all. lol. The... More

I love. The Galley Hatch...have for over 20 years.....but NOT today! I had the arugula salad with roasted vegetables, but all I found were 3 small pieces of carrots! The dressing was delicious, but basically all I had was a pile of greens! The bread plate was also disappointing. It consisted of one white bread roll and a piece of... More

A great place for a couple, a family or a group function. This restaurant is deceptively large - there is ample seating in several different rooms. Though there is room for alot of people, I never felt cramped. The staff hustles here... they move quickly and you need to be careful if you are standing in a corridor that leads... More

Came here for a business dinner as my two visitors from out of town wanted lobster. The receptionist at our hotel recommended this place as being good and more affordable than some of the more well known restaurants in Newburyport. It is true that it is definitely more affordable and the food is good, but not excellent. Our server was... More

I've been visiting Hampton for the last nearly 20 years and I've not yet had a disappointing visit to this restaurant either for lunch or dinner. As usual, they were busy at lunchtime but we got seated quite quickly - the "Host" spent time with the couple in front, sharing the news which is probably why they have such huge... More

We almost did not go in as the parking lot was full but we got in quickly with no wait. Service was pretty quick and the fish fry I had was good. Onion rings were SUPER!! Not all batter and no onions. Wife loved her meal so it was a good experience all around. A reliable, steady place for a... More

We have eaten at the Galley Hatch several times a year for the past 20 years, and have enjoyed it, but after today's lunch we will not go back. The Reuben sandwich was inedible, the meat was full of gristle and fat. My husband's Haddock sandwich was just o.k., and the potato salad had too much mayo. The menu no... More

The menu had a great variety of selections. I had the Fresh haddock filet pan fried and sesame crusted served over steamed mixed vegetables with vegetable dumplings and a sweet red pepper ginger soy sauce. The crust was delicious and my favorite part of the meal was the dumplings. I could have eaten them as just the meal itself!

There was ten of us for dinner and we were seated promptly. Two waitress took care of us which I think is unusual. They did a very good job of taking care of our needs. They agreed to give separate checks which again is unusual. My wife had the lamb burger and ordered it medium but it was well done.... More
