Off the beaten path but easy to find. This is a place the locals support and one we frequent regularly when in town. It has a certain charm about it and is not your typical trendy spot. Menu has a nice selection and the food is very good. Love the steak salad.

I had to try it...$10 lobster roll what would you actually get. A roll with lettuce to "pad" it with a lobster salad on top. Lobster salad had some celery and a bit too much mayo on it. Very few chunks of meat. Not terrible, but not great. My husband got the "add on" chowder and salad, but he did... More

Stopped here by chance, great selection of seafood dinners and vegetable selection, portions are large, the Haddock was best i ever had. Fun atmosphere for the family or couples. Complimentary hot rolls were great. Try it and you will keep going back

Stop here on the spur of the moment and was pleasantly surprised, fun place to grab a beer and a burger, prices are very reasonable, sat next to honey boo boo and her mother so that was entertaining :/ ...

We got off i95 to avoid the traffic and found this really nice restaurant. They have lots of choices including those that are glutenfree. The staff was friendly and very accommodating and the food was tasty and fresh.

This popular restaurant has good food, but is somewhat pricey. Not sure why none of the hamburgers or sandwiches come with fries--they only come with potato chips.

I've been here a couple times, and was more than pleased. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is very unique, especially with the wine bottles all over the second floor. The 401 mac and cheese is to die for, absolutely delicious! The bread they serve is also very good. I would recommend this place to anyone.

A recent trip to Hampton Beach, on our way back to Vermont we stopped for lunch. The staff were very friendly and helpful with their best recommendations, and more importantly why. I ordered the "GRILLED WATERMELON", W/Grapes, Avocado, Strawberry Pico & Crumbled Bleau Cheese & added (Grilled 1/2 Lobster well so so). My wife & son ordered the "JUST SAY... More

Clearly the Best restaurant in the Hampton Beach area. But please, dump the honey mustard and bring back the maple syrup for the bacon wrapped scallops. Service is fantastic. Everyone has great personalities. A must do.

We decided to go to 401 Tavern to watch World Cup Soccer and have dinner. We ate upstairs in the wine bar which was a very quaint setting. Our waiter Matt was new, very friendly and answered any questions we had about the menu. We started with a flatbread Greek pizza as an appetizer which was delicious. I had the... More
