Sawyers is a fixture in Gilford NH serving townies and visitors during the summer months. their ice cream selection is very good. Their serving size is bigger than most of us need.

We visited NH Lakes region for a family vacation. Finding a good, reliable and family friendly place that offered decent food option was surprising difficult in otherwise a major vacation spot. Sawyer's was an exception. With a tremendous turnover of clientele, the ingredients were fresh while of typically diner variety. My wife and I shared a garden salad with fresh... More

We thank you for your review. We must tell you that although we consider all reviews important (they keep us on our toes) yours is one that makes all this very hard work worthwhile. Again, thank you from the entire crew at Sawyer's. More

I was in the area for a music festival down the road at Gunstock Mountain. I was initially confused about where to enter. There was a line of people outside, so I wasn't sure if I was supposed to order inside or outside and then go in. After asking a person in the line I found out, it's ice cream... More

Thank you for your comments..... We are sorry for the confusion you experienced. You are not alone. Sawyer's will be celebrating its 70th year of continuous operation in 2015. Most of our four generations of customers know the ropes for having food brought to where they decide to sit. Regretfully, the time you chose to come was a concert night... More

We've been going here for over 15 years. It's not the cheapest spot (the large lobster roll is $26 but it is HUGE) but everything is tasty. I love the clam strips and onion hearts. Pulled pork is good, too, and the burgers are nice. A great new addition this year is a coffee and homemade donut food truck in... More

Founded in 1948, this ice cream, burger place has been a staple for our family for decades. The ice cream is still great, but we took one look at the prices for the restaurant and decided not the eat lunch there. New management has changed (elevated) the prices and we were afraid the quality might not be what we were... More

Above average, with large sea scallops, large shrimp, big belly clams, and a generous portion of fish. Much better than the Town Docks fisherman's platter (which had no shrimp, and small bay scallops) for about $3 more. The lobster bisque had lots of lobster meat in a thin cream base - nice flavor. The calamari pleased our calamari eater, it... More

Under new ownership and not the same place we loved to go to growing up. Every summer for decades meant going to Sawyer's for lobster rolls and ice cream. New owners have jacked up the prices and portion sizes have gone down. We've moved on to other places.

For the benefit of all readers Sawyers has been under new ownership for the past 8 years. Indeed it is not the same place. It is far better according to today's standards. Despite being open only in the summer months we have managed to make numerous capital improvements each year and our business has nearly doubled since we acquired this... More

I had a BLT and it was awesome. I hear the ice cream is good too, but I did not try it. The lobster roll looked really good, be prepared, the price is a little higher than I am used to, but I think for what you get it was fair. It was clean and the service was very good.... More

We used to love to go to Sawyers!!!! But the last time I was there, about 2 years ago, very disappointed and extremely expensive! Where it is basically self service, for the price, I want to be served! I've heard the food has since improved but the prices are very high. We may give it another try for the food... More
