Sawyers is not fancy, but they know how to fry oysters. The corn chowder is also excellent. I arrived hungry and left satisfied in every way.

Old style dairy bar with good food and excellent service. Located at a major intersection in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, it is in the center of an activity filled area.

Our family stopped in for a quick seafood medley and was surprised how great the food was. Fries clam roll was outstanding as well as the haddock plate. It was great to be able to use the outdoor seating because we had our dog with us at the time. A great experience was had by all.

Sawyers is a fixture in Gilford NH serving townies and visitors during the summer months. their ice cream selection is very good. Their serving size is bigger than most of us need.

We visited NH Lakes region for a family vacation. Finding a good, reliable and family friendly place that offered decent food option was surprising difficult in otherwise a major vacation spot. Sawyer's was an exception. With a tremendous turnover of clientele, the ingredients were fresh while of typically diner variety. My wife and I shared a garden salad with fresh... More

I was in the area for a music festival down the road at Gunstock Mountain. I was initially confused about where to enter. There was a line of people outside, so I wasn't sure if I was supposed to order inside or outside and then go in. After asking a person in the line I found out, it's ice cream... More

Thank you for your comments..... We are sorry for the confusion you experienced. You are not alone. Sawyer's will be celebrating its 70th year of continuous operation in 2015. Most of our four generations of customers know the ropes for having food brought to where they decide to sit. Regretfully, the time you chose to come was a concert night... More

We've been going here for over 15 years. It's not the cheapest spot (the large lobster roll is $26 but it is HUGE) but everything is tasty. I love the clam strips and onion hearts. Pulled pork is good, too, and the burgers are nice. A great new addition this year is a coffee and homemade donut food truck in... More

Founded in 1948, this ice cream, burger place has been a staple for our family for decades. The ice cream is still great, but we took one look at the prices for the restaurant and decided not the eat lunch there. New management has changed (elevated) the prices and we were afraid the quality might not be what we were... More

Above average, with large sea scallops, large shrimp, big belly clams, and a generous portion of fish. Much better than the Town Docks fisherman's platter (which had no shrimp, and small bay scallops) for about $3 more. The lobster bisque had lots of lobster meat in a thin cream base - nice flavor. The calamari pleased our calamari eater, it... More
