Fried seafood & ice cream

We stopped at Sawyers while driving through the Lakes Region. I had the fried scallop dinner with onion rings & coleslaw. My husband had fried clams with french fries. The fried items were very good and served with what appeared to be a homemade tartar sauce. There is a shady area with picnic... read more

Great place to eat. Too bad they close so early in the year. Very close to Weirs Beach. Loved it. The ice cream isn't bad either

We found the fried food to be just OK, not as good as some in the Lakes region. The service was very slow, but given the amount of people, was understandable. The servings were generous, but we feel a bit overpriced. The picnic takes under the trees was a nice perk.

Unfortunately, Patricks was 4 deep at the bar with an hours wait for a table. My wife and I went next door to Sawyers to eat. I will never return. We both chose clam boats with cole slaw and a soft drink. These were suppose to be full belly clams but they were more like clam strips. The clams were... More

All fried food but SOOOOO good. The lobster roll sandwich is out of this world! Worth every dollar. Casual and fun!

Sawyers has expanded in size since our last visit over 40 years ago. I remember it as just a dairy bar but now there is a full service food section. The ice cream is still outstanding but the fried clam roll that I also had was less than the best. Service was fast and friendly and the dining area was... More

Delicious fried seafood, but pricey. Can be long lines at busy times, but service was pretty fast. We found picnic tables out back where it was quiet and peaceful.

One of the better fisherman's platters in the lakes region, we think. Large scallops, shrimp, belly clams and a generous portion of fish. Lobster roll also served up simply and disappeared quickly. Order at the counter, listen for your order, and bring your tray back to your cafeteria style booth, or outside to the picnic tables. Nothing fancy here, just... More

Sawyers has been around for centuries (well, a bit of an exaggeration). Excellent ice cream with generous servings, fried and grilled meals for eat in or take out with reliable quality, very clean setting. This is one of those establishments that is a traditional stopping point for a quick and easy meal for summer people in the Lakes Region of... More

Great local diner with walk up ice cream window! So many ice cream flavors to choose from you cant go wrong! Reasonable prices with very generous servings, the banana split is the best value ever, you won't be disappointed !
