Late lunch, no wait

This was recommended to us by a local. It proved to be good food. Unlike other reviewers we arrived mid afternoon and the restaurant was empty. Now considered to be the off season so food came out fairly quickly. Waitstaff was friendly. You basically make your own sandwich which is what my husband... read more

We made a quick visit into Wendle's early in the morning and made our minds up to come back for a good lunch later, the big chalk board menu was so appetising. When we did return, Wendy was there alone and the whole of Franconia was dead. She greeted us like long lost friends and we chatted for a good... More

I have to preface this by saying we visited on a busy Sunday over the Columbus Day weekend. Not that that should be an excuse but this place cannot handle a crowd at all. While they had several people behind the counter I think it took 45 minutes to an hour to get two so so sandwiches, luke warm (not... More

30 minute wait for 4 sandwiches. Unacceptable. Wasted the best time of day that we could have been hiking. Not worth the wait either.

We came here for lunch after hiking in Franconia Notch State Park. The place is folksy and looks like a casual local sandwich and coffee joint you'd see in a college town. We had high hopes coming in and their offerings looked good up on the colored chalk board. However, the service was very slow, almost apathetic, and the sandwiches... More

When Polly's Pancake House had an hour wait, we went here based on other reviews. My husband got eggs and I had French Toast. We were both pleased. There were many tea choices but we opted for serve yourself coffee. Has a nice laid-back vibe. Would come here again.

We had soup and quiche both times. They were very good. Quiches were different i.e. one like a greek salad. I loved them and will try to do them at home. Restaurant is quirky with fun quotes and sayings all over the wall. Outside eating area. Can be very busy on weekends.

This place looked intriguing and likely a spot for a good cup of coffee. I just wanted a good cup of coffee. Coffee was in thermos pots which is certainly acceptable. I first tried the regular blend. I immediately knew something was up when the slightly brownish liquid coming from the pump barely smelled like coffee. What landed in my... More
