How does this place stay in business? The staff has no interest in creating a friendly or hygienic environment. The food is mediocre at best, and well overpriced. The cash only policy is inconvenient in this day and age.

We stopped in for breakfast one morning. The coffee was good and comes in oversized warm mugs. Breakfast was okay. The breakfast sandwich was tasty. Very eclectic interior. Staff was very nice.

The inside was very welcoming and uniquely decorated. It was busy when we went, so it took a while to get our breakfast, but it was all fresh-made and delicious. Can't get that at Dunkin!

We had breakfast which was fine although the oatmeal was a bit strange. Good vibe & free wifi. We found the staff very friendly & helpful.

This is a quaint stop in the White Mts. where you can "have it your way". We stopped here for lunch and I loved the fact that I could get a half sandwich, with an array of choices for add-ons and any kind of bread I wanted. I had a turkey on rye with lettuce, tomato and cucumber, but could... More

I live in Fairlee, Vermont, and go up to Franconia a few times each summer, and always eat at Wendel's and have for about 5 years. Call me unimaginative, but I always get the same thing, and it never fails to impress me. What they call the "Hildegard" is a "garden on the grill": a scramble of spinach, onion, potato,... More

This eatery has, at first glance, an appealing ambience. It's funky and, yes, there are daily newspapers available to read. There is an outside porch with five tables, pleasant enough to sit at on a warm day. However, hygiene standards are not good. Look closely and you'll see dirt in all the wrong places. On a recent visit for a... More

Ok, when the wait is 2 hours long at Polly's Pancake House, you grab your phone, go to Yelp or Trip Advisor and find some place else. In this case, it was Wendles. Pros: Great atmosphere. Funky, bohemian with checkerboard tables, couches, philosophical sayings printed on chalkboards. The staff was friendly to us. The french toast was decent. Coffee is unlimited... More

Every time I have visited I've enjoyed the fresh quality of food, the relaxed atmosphere, the ample papers to read, and the yummy after lunch desserts. Whenever I go to Garnet Hill, I have lunch here. Highly recommend!

I had a reasonably priced salad and sandwich, and the people were friendly. There is a restroom for customers.
