We are the first true prime steakhouse in the state of NH featuring dry-aged steaks and Wine Spectator award winning wine list. Opened in 2004 by acclaimed CIA chef, Chris "Koz" Kozlowski, the restaurant garnered the prestigious "Hidden Jewel" award from the Phantom Gourmet in 2013. Chef Koz is the only chef to receive this award twice in the state of NH. The restaurant is located in an old firehouse building located right downtown Dover. The downstairs is more elegant with white tablecloths and chandeliers. The upstairs is called the Top of the Chop and features a more casual atmosphere with a lighter "Rustic Menu". In the warmer months, you can have dinner outside on the Terrace, our outdoor deck. We also have a full kids menu.

Okay not great

The food was good but not the best. The steak I had was cooked okay but the sides were a bit blah ! I will say the construction is a mess over there and parking was also !

Full disclosure - I come here a lot. But this is an unbiased review. When i walked in the bar was packed. They said earlier was quiet. Finally squeezed in at the bar and ordered a 12oz filet with all vegetables. Tonight it was cooked perfectly and seasoned just the way I liked it. And now having Espresso canollis that... More

One of the best meals I have had in my life. Fantastic ambience, courteous staff. Foodie heaven. The aged steak was the pinnacle of the meal, cooked to perfection and very bite tender. Met the owner, what a nice guy, made me feel welcome. I will go back here again and may need no other excuse more than this restaurant... More

There were 6 of us and early and every thing was perfect, drinks food and service. We have a person who has trouble hearing and they turned the music down so he could hear the conversation which was very helpful. we had very different request as to how meat was cooked and they were right on. We chose to dine here for our anniversary, as it is close to home, and it was a weeknight. Surprisingly, we had never been before. As it was a Monday, there were no other patrons, so we had excellent service, and an excellent meal. We had the onion soup, and a crab chowder, both delicious, and my husband tried his... More

Maria, thank you for the review. It would be helpful if you let us know what could have been done to make the food better. If the steak was cooked ok, then we must have hit the temperature perfectly. We make all the sides fresh daily. Red Beans and rice are an authentic New Orleans recipe, we hand cut all... More

The food is alright, nothing great but very pricey. Nothing like a Chicago steakhouse where the price and quality are more equivalent.

Peter, thank you very much for your feedback. I wish you went into a bit more detail on what the issues were here and we would be happy to address them. We purchase all of our food through the same purveyors that the big city steakhouses use. In general, our prices are much less than most comparable city steakhouses and... More

I feel compelled to start by saying that I've worked in hotels my entire career and am extremely sensitive to service and execution. That being said, please ignore any negative reviews for this restaurant. It was superb! My friends and I visited this establishment on Saturday night for restaurant week (3-course meal for $29.95). A couple ran late, we sat 15mins after our reservations time (our bad). Our server took our drink order, about 15 mins later we got our drinks. My cocktail was delish! About 5-10mins later, we ordered our selections from the pre-fixe menu options.... More

Thank you for coming out for our discounted restaurant week menu. From the sounds of your review, it actually sounds closer to 4-star, but we appreciate it. We were very busy that night due to Seacoast Restaurant Week and had another hostess go to the hospital right before you got there, cutting her hand on a glass. I apologize if... More
