The Mug is a great place for individuals or families looking for good food at a fair price. The atmosphere is very casual so no need to dress up - tee shirts, shorts and flip flops are fine. The burgers are outstanding! The owner buys freshly ground beef each day at the local market so no fear that they are... More

This is a place where locals meet to drink and watch or play games. The food is basic, the dining room is dark, and without adornment or atmosphere, so this is not a place for romantic first dates. I was here on two occasions, and ordered meal-sized salads on both of them. One one occasion the lettuce was crisp and... More

Rancid beef, rotten veggies. Steer clear. I promise you, regret will follow after eating at this dive. Witnessed a waitress no older than 19 getting felt up at the bar by a dude who was probably 50+. Ordered food. Got sick. The rest of my party got sick too. Flies were abundant as was the rancid beef. RUN! Dont walk,... More

Finally, we made it to this restaurant. Our son and his wife were visiting, wife is in the hospital. Well, the atmosphere is anything but pleasing. No table cloth, its dark inside, terrible noise due to a low ceiling etc.. But the food was excellent and reasonable. I could not take my wife to the Mug as for her the... More

If your looking for a good burger or some fish stop by The Mug. Bar setting with pool tables, but family friendly. Going to The Mug is always a must at least twice during the week we stay at Squam.

The mug is a great bar and restaurant in Holderness NH near Squam Lake. The locals were eating there so you know its good. We ordered pizza and chicken fingers. They were both great but the pizza was awesome! The owner and the waitresses were great. It was so good I got a pizza to go the last day we... More

This location was a breakfast lunch local favorite. I was skeptical about the new venue, but was pleasantly surprised to find fine dining with a view of the lake and well presented fare. It is defiinitely a place to visit while in the lakes region.

Then come here. Get a cheeseburger. Really, don't get anything but a good old classic American cheeseburger, until at least your third time. That's what this place is: American, and it's American in the good way, not the McDonald's way. This is one of those places where you can feel that you're at the only place like it. When you... More

I have been coming to The Mug since I was a kid. If you are looking for a fancy place, this is not it. But it's a great place to come and eat. The past two times I went with my husband and our 3 yr old son on our way up to Moultonborough. They have some arcade games that... More
