Pretty good

Came on a very busy Sunday with a small wait for lunch. Got lucky and got a window seat, neat view of trees and lake. I got fish (haddock) sandwich with house fries and slaw, hubby got buttermilk fried chicken with parmesean fries. Haddock was delicious (a little greasy), fries were good (could... read more

The Canoe Restraunt was recommended by our B & B and we had an excellent meal. You must try the calamari and the other fish is great.

Ordered the Caesar salad. It was good. Next, ordered the special halibut that had balsamic vinegar and a honey glaze accompanied by wild rice with asparagus. I found it lacking in flavor or discernible taste. The rice was also lacking. The chicken parmigiana was accompanied by over cooked pasta that was mushy. The chicken did taste good. The sauce was... I had heard rave reviews so decided to stop they were only using one dinning room which was crowded. ordered the lobster Mac and cheese my daughter got fish and chips. I noticed a lot of take out boxes going with people. The food came out it was barely warm the Mac tasted sour and the fish were two tiny... More

great service, great food, casual atmosphere. Doesn't get much better than this. Haddock, lobster and crap ravioli, roast pork were great and the apps. were outstanding, especially the tuna.......

Food was prepared and presented in a high-end manor, however the pricing was quite reasonable given the quality and freshness of food, and the atmosphere was very comfortable (could be clean casual to upscale dress). Specialty drink menu (specifically a large variety of wines and martinis) was excellent. Parking was a bit of a hassle however, as spaces were very... More

Tonight we had a reservation for a group of eleven. Granted, this is a large group. Nonetheless, we should not have had to wait 15 minutes for a server to greet us. Once we finally got a server, the timing of everything just got worse. From start to finish, 3 hours. Everyone who ordered steaks had theirs overcooked. Drink orders... More

The Build-A-Burger was the best item that was ordered at our table......Lobster Roll just ok (no flavor at all but a tasty potato roll bun) & the Mac & Cheese looked & tasted divine. Will come back for dinner in the summer as I'm sure the light will be quite nice for the view until 9:00 or so.

My daughters and a friend ate at the Canoe in July of this year. We took my husband there last Thursday night with the hopes that it was going to be just as good as it was in July. We were not disappointed. Our waitress, Amy

Greek salad included stalks of romaine lettuce... why? Clam chowder was floury and tasteless. Shrimp lo mein featured watery noodles in what could have been canned baby shrimp and a whole bunch of vegetables including summer squash, which of course is very common in Lo mein. Huh? Go somewhere else for decent food.
