Delightful restaurant

Restaurant was highly recommended by the locals and it did not disappoint. The waitress was friendly and helpful, though service was a little slow. I wanted the Lobster Mac & Cheese but knew I couldn't finish an dinner entree, (priced at $22) so the waitress suggested a small side dish for a lesser... read more

We were in the Winnipesauke area for a weekend. When there, we always try to have either a lunch or dinner at Canoe. It never disappoints us. The Staff is welcoming and knowledge regarding wines and menu items. Everything we have ever order on the menu has been very much to our satisfaction, so we will not recommend any one... More

We had a delightful New Years Eve dinner at Canoe. We were able to order from their regular menu or the special NYE menu which was reasonably priced and the choices and food delicious

I had heard this was a good place to eat. We had wanted to go to Camp in Meredith, but it was lunch time so we went here instead. The food was so ordinary. The desserts were still cold from the fridge. I would not go back as it is expensive to boot

We had been recommended to this restaurant by a friend with whom we were golfing. Walked in about 3:30 pm and the place was empty - but that worked for us. We sat at the bar and were welcomed by a very nice bartender. She offered us suggestions when asked and although we didn't take her advice we weren't disappointed.... More

Even though there are quite a few restaurants in the lakes region, there are not many that I would recommend. Most of them have just typical bar food which I am not a fan of. Canoe goes the extra step and has many original dishes. their Orange Chicken is a great appetizer, their Mac n Cheese is wonderful and plenty... More

It may be right on the lake overlooking the Mt. Washington when docked, but that doesn't make the food any more palatable. We made the mistake of ordering a pasta dish and a fish dish came away unimpressed. For down home food, we prefer George's on the fish nights - it may not have the same ambiance as Canoe, but... My cousin and I stopped in to The Canoe on the wave of a hunger pang at lunchtime on a Saturday, without a reservation- and we were seated by a window overlooking Winnepesaukee Lake, with an Autumn view resplendent with golden leaves, and the Mt Washington (pleasure boat) in the background in her winter berth. Would the food match the... More

Our B&B made a reservation for us...whew! Glad we got in; it was crazy busy, but it was a Friday night. We were in the bar area downstairs. Once the waitress noticed us things went smoothly. Great local food that was delicious and well presented in a non fussy way! Would visit again and try some other dishes!

Food was phenomenal! I had Lobster Mac & Cheese, yes some brilliant individual came up with this and it is as good as you can imagine, the husband had pork loin. For starters (escargots). We were too full for dessert. We would go back to Canoe in a flash, we we had one here!
