My wife and I left her brother's cottage and stopped at the Homestead. We both got the mediterranean salmon with large baked potato, asparagus, unlimited rolls. nice , crisp caprese salad-----OH BOY !! One of the best meals that I have ever had in my life. Waitress was excellent, right on top of everything, cozy rooms, plenty of parking. We... More

Been eating at The Homestead for years. My favorite is the steamed lobster but have had other menu items as well. My brother and I always share an appetizer of the escargot baked in garlic butter and cheese, served with garlic toast to dip in the butter! Service is good and attentive but not overbearing. The Homestead is a staple... More

The chicken marsala was very good but the special at the time, beef stroganof, was amazing. Desert was more than delicious, I believe it was a chocolate fudge mud pie, piled sky high, will eat here again when returning to the area.

Service was terrible. Waitress may have been new. Took 45 minutes to receive our meal. French Onion soup was burnt and they used brown bread (leftover?). Chicken Marsala had zero flavor. Sides were not delivered. Waitress asked how things were. We told her "not great" She explained it had been a tough night and she was not enjoying it.

This used to be our favorite restaurant; BUT it has gone soooo far down hill. Food served cold, 12 oz. prime rib looked like it was MAYBE 6 oz. Have returned 3 more times just to make sure it wasn't just a bad day...WRONG!!! French fries were served cold. Variety appetizer was AWLFUL. Tasted like they were ALL FREEZER BURNED... More

Went to this restaurant for my birthday and begged to go back for our anniversary. We were greeted enthusiastically and seated at a lovely corner table overlooking a garden adorned with twinkling lights. Felt quite elegant until the mussels in white wine arrived. Then we began dipping our rolls into the delicious sauce and tossing down mussels like scavengers! The... More

We stumbled upon The Homestead on a Friday night when Kathleen's Cottage was too busy to get into. The atmosphere was lovely and the menu is extensive allowing for something for everyone. I think the prices might be slightly high for what you receive, but I don't think it's necessarily out of line. I would go back again.

During the Memorial Day Weekend we were in Meredith NH attending a craft fair, at the recommendation of my wife's acquaintance we made the short ten(10) minute trip to Bristol, NH to dine at the Homestead Restaurant. We arrived just as they were opening, it early @ 4:30. While waiting to be seated we enjoyed some wonderful cheese and crackers... More

This was our first visit to the Homestead in many years. The menu is diverse. You can get pub food, burgers and nachos, or fine food, steak and seafood. Our family had a burger, steak, and seafood sampler. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The chowder was excellent. We found the food to be better quality than Common Man and actually a... More

Went for dinner with my husband, We started with the Escargot which was very good. We each had the side salad, with their great homemade Blue Cheese Dressing. The loaded mashed potatoes were awesome. We both ordered Steak Oscar which was wonderful, the steak was moist, tender, cooked perfectly and was topped with 4 lobster claws, Fresh Asparagus beneath the... More
