We had lunch here after our Virgina an truckee train ride from Carson City. We picked it since it was a few blocks uphill from the main part of town and away from the tourists who overwhelm the place on weekends. We enjoyed our food and beer, and appreciated the historic ambiance of the dining room. I was not aware... More

Had lunch here with a group of 6 based on Trip-advisors reviews. It is a walk from the main area but worth it. The food was great! It wasn't very busy but I think that is because of the location. If you know where you're going you can park by the restaurant but we didn't so it was a hike.... More

Thursday evening in Virginia City, and "Café Del Rio" was very busy! The reason? The best food in town.. by far! Mrs. Mowerboy had a chicken enchilada, and she said it was better than any one she had ever had, and she finished the whole thing! (..and it was a plateful, too.) I opted for the special, which was BBQ... More

Good food; old west ambience. Fish soft tacos were delicious. And if you like light, crunchy tortilla chips these were some of my favorites ever! Nice walk east on C Street - slightly east of central downtown. Enjoy!

Michele, owner of our motel, recommended the Del Rio and their popular chicken dinner. Café Del Rio mainly serves Mexican food but they also have nightly specials. We arrived in town on a Wednesday and when we asked where we should have dinner we were directed to the Del Rio, Located in one of the many historic buildings on C.... More

We ate here twice while in Virginia City. The Gospel chicken was extremely good! The server was very nice and the second evening we ate there there was live music too. We loved it!

We stopped there for lunch while visiting Virginia City. They have awesome steak tacos. The food looked very fresh and the chips were made on site. We had a person with Celiac disease (gluten allergy) in our party, and when we explained what she needed, the server double checked with the chef and everything went smoothly. I would recommend. The... More

I was very disappointed eating here. We came in with a wedding party of 16 with reservations. They didn't even act like they were expecting us. The tables were set up, but that was all. There wasn't any water, or pitchers. They were out of margaritas, which we were all drinking. The host/server was harried and short. They wine list... More

Wednesday 7-16 - 2014 My friend and I were told the chicken dinner at the Cafe Del Rio was the greatest. After our chicken dinner Wednesday evening we have to agree and give it a five star + Our waitress Tawny gave us excellent service. We will be back for sure. :)
