Excellent service - beautiful location - excellent food

We really enjoyed our meal at this location. The building itself is quiet old and unique. When you enter, you encounter a small bar with a small lounge. The dining room is large. We had a window table and it was great. The food was excellent! And the service was great. Probably the best... read more

On our first visit to Virginia City, we were hoping to have a quick lunch, then enjoy a couple hours exploring the historic town. There were 5 of us, including an active toddler. The restaurant was busy when we went in, but it emptied out within a half hour. We don't know why it took 45 minutes to push 2... More

whenever we stay in Virginia City, we always make a stop at this restaurant. The food is good and it is one of only a few places that are open after 5 pm. We were there on Sunday and got to experience the Gospel friend chicken dinner which the cafe is known for on Sundays. we had several locals recommend... More

After the Cafe moved to VC we have had the opportunity to try it about 1-2 times per year. My wife and I were there during the St Paddy's weekend so I am not sure if they were rushed in making some of the food but it wasn't as good as it has been in the past. We both had... More

Enjoyed dinner here with my wife to relaxing acoustic guitar. We had the vegetarian and seafood(Yucatan) enchiladas. Both were excellently flavored and hearty portions. Took the chili cinnamon caramel sundae to go, wow, we usually don't like sugar before bed but this was definitely worth the sugar rush. Didn't get to try anywhere else in town but this restaurant would... More

We stopped here on Sunday for lunch/brunch and a cocktail. The Chili Hash with Poached eggs were excellent, as were the margaritas and bloody marys. We will definitely be back to try dinner and breakfast.

Our group of ten had dinner here on Valentines Day. Everything was delicious, and cooked properly. The atmosphere was great. The servers were friendly and helpful. The menu selection is varied, with special selections for Valentines. The bacon wrapped filet and crab stuffed sole were both wonderful. The taquitis on the appetizer menu are perfect as an entree for young... More

Great restaurant in Virginia City. I spent New Years Eve there, they had a great menu and delicious food. I was by myself and the owner kept me company! I eat here every time I visit VC. Virginia City is a great place to spend New Years Eve, plenty of entertainment and places to have a cocktail. The people are... More

This place has a great reputation, and I don't know what times of year they do it, but they used to have a weekly chicken lunch for the locals that was more affordable, call them and ask about it. A bit pricey but really great food, known to be the best place to eat on the Comstock. But Virginia City... More

Is to die for. Had to have it, but was agonizing to choose, as everything sounded soooo good! I've had plenty of fried chicken restaurants claiming to be "the best", including The Screen Door in Portland Oregon, which is legendary, but the chicken at Cafe Del Rio is something to crow about. (Sorry, I couldn't resist). The sides were marvelous,... More
