I've lived in Virginia City, NV for 10 years and the one place in town all of the locals go to for a great dinner is Café Del Rio. They have the best Southwestern food in Nevada. They are open daily during the tourist season and open on Friday and Saturday nights during the winter months. I would highly recommend... More

I read about this restaurant on tripadvisor. What a great place to eat! The atmosphere is fun, my family took advantage of the chess board set up in the lounge. The service was great, portion size is good for hungry children. The meals are unique and very good. The night we were there we enjoyed live music, perfect background to... More

We recently hosted a party in VC and a good number of our party guest descended on Cafe del Rio for dinner. They were very accommodating with our large crew and the food was fabulous! Service was quick and friendly. Our glasses didn't go empty and food arrived in respectable time despite a busy night. If you like fish tacos,... More

Stopped in for a late lunch and enjoyed a cup of homemade corn chowder, shredded beef enchilada in a house made tortilla with fresh red and green sauce and homemade cinnamon ice cream. Especially enjoyed the tomatillo green sauce and subtle - not overpowering - nuance of the ice cream.

First, I routinely have the best chile relleno ever here at Cafe Del Rio. That is not to say the rest of their food is not fantastic, because it is! Brian and Arde are wonderful hosts and their staff has always shown to be attentive, polite, and professional. I will drive from Reno to Virginia City for their food over... More

We were becoming a little jaded with some of the very mediocre food we were eating on our trip to the U.S. so the Cafe Del Rio lifted our spirits with a very tasty meal. It certainly wasn't strictly Mexican. We chose Salmon, creamed potatoes and french beans from the specials menu which was well cooked and very tasty. Great... More

I recently went into Del Rio on a Sunday. There were a number of people there all visiting Virginia City. While in one of the local shops at the other end of town, I asked the store owner in town about it. His comment was "the best" . He went on to say your going to pass by many tempting... More

We ate here on the recomendation of Paul form the Cobb Mansion B&B. Boy did he give us a great tip. The food was absolutley the best I have ever had. We had friends with us and we all loved it. If you are in Virginia City then be sure to give them a try, food & service was great.

We come up to Virginia City frequently and often just to eat at Cafe del Rio. The chef is very creative and the food is fabulous! Love his seafood creations on Friday and Saturday evenings - you never know what the main ingredient will be or what wonderful things he will do with it. The sides are almost as exciting,... More
