Great Food and Atmosphere

Me, being new to the Reno/Tahoe area, I wanted to check out Virginia City! What a beautiful trip up, you could see the entire valley! What a quaint little town! Very busy on the weekend but still was able to get in for lunch within 15 minutes. The wait was a little long but worth the wait. All... read more

We came in late close to closing and we were happily seated. The atmosphere is cool and interesting, in a historic building. The food was great we had the prime rib special, Service was fast and friendly and price was great!

We were not really looking forward to Mexican food (although I do love it) but there were not many restaurants open for dinner in the area. As we walked in, the aroma gave a hint as to what we were about to get. My husband ordered the Gospel Chicken (only served on Sundays and Wednesdays haha) and I had their... More

I have been to Café Del Rio three times and look forward to my next visit. I love the fact that this little restaurant is set within a historic building on the main street of Virginia City. The exposed stone walls of the interior dining area create a rustic atmosphere and the décor is simple but nicely done. The staff... More

Our family has been to Cafe del Rio quite a few times for their Gospel Chicken Dinner. The fare is normally southwest, but as a special, they serve the best boneless breast fried chicken. It comes with mashed potatoes with gravy, fresh corn off the cob, and garlic slaw. Fortunately for us, we have managed to dine there when the... More

I had a very nice dinner on my birthday at Cafe Del Rio. The food and service was very good. I highly recommend the salmon. A very good choice for southwest-style mexican food. We'll be back!

After a nice nap, we head down the hill to Café del Rio. The building itself is historical. In 1873, it was a grocery convenience store. In the 1960s, it was a car garage. You can still see the where the double-garage doors would have been if you look front at it from the front of the building or looking... More

I had lunch at the Cafe Del Rio on 4 July. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I had quesadillas with barbecue chicken beans and rice fresh corn off the cob. My friend had a fabulous burrito with red and green sauce. The greeter and hostess and our server were both very kind and warm And quite professional, and relaxed as... More

Poor service. Waitress had tons of attitude. Portions were small and false advertising on menu. I won't be back and do not recommend.
