Went there to see the town and all its Christmas decorations, which was very nice. Enjoy going there to visit and have lunch. We usually go to the Palace because of the large selection of lunches and Reuben sandwiches. Generous portions with a load of...fries was a treat and the atmosphere is great.More

We stopped in for lunch and got such an experience! It was so busy - people were everywhere, but somehow the staff was always able to find a table to everyone who walked in. We had a Reuban sandwich, which was delicious and full of...corned beef. My most fave thing was the homemade tortilla chips, which were fantastic. The chips and salsa order was huge and I couldn't bring myself to waste them and so brought them back to the hotel. Can't describe how good they were. If you go, just do yourself a favour and order chips and salsa. Then take a look around and see the environment itself - quite a western throwback.More

We ate here on our last visit to Virginia City. Like most places to eat and drink in Virginia City, it has a fairly rough, informal quality but like others, that's because it's an historic old saloon and it has kept that quality as well...as many old features. It has a great old bar area. We had a great meal here with excellent burgers, fries, etc. They have a nice range of different burger options and all that we had were prepared very well. They had some good beer options, too, with some good local beers. Service was efficient and enthusiastic.More

We were lucky to get the last table here for lunch as its clearly very popular. A big menu, nice food and a reasonable price, I would recommend this place for dinner if you're in Virginia City.

Family owned and run place. Staff friendly and helpful. Service very good. Large menu, from apps to dinners. Tried several burgers including the Garbage Truck. All were flavorful and filling. Wouldn’t hesitate to go there again.

We were bar hopping and stopped in here for a beer. Fries are great to help soak up the beer so you can continue on.

You can't go wrong here. Everything on the menu is fabulous! It's a great lunch spot. Can be crowded on the weekends, so plan ahead.

We went on a Monday and got there luckily before the lunch crowd, we were seated quickly and our food came out pretty quick. Western pulled pork sandwich was delicious, sounded like there was a half hour wait by the time we left so better...to get there for an early lunch. The whole town got pretty crowded once noon hit so it was hard to browse around the shops, cute little western town though.More

The menu is extensive, and the food is amazing. This is a must go to restaurant for me. I love the history of the building, and there is so much to look at on the walls. Make it one of your go-to places when you're...in Virginia City.More

Great lunch at the Palace. Kids had chicken fingers (A+ ) and delicious shake. Adults had Rueben & a salad. Fresh and fast. Waitress was a delight. Related some great historic facts. Booth was perfect for family.

Visited Virginia City on our Highway 50 Loneliest Road. Stopped in this restaurant and it was very busy and they were down at least one server. They seated us and we waited quite a while before they took our order. Our food did come sooner...than I thought it would. Delicious Rubens and great fries. Service was great despite the short staff issue and being busy m. I would go back!More

We come to Reno for the Air Races each year and our first stop is heading to Virginia City. And our first stop in Virginia City is the Palace Saloon. We always eat there. They have a great menu with lots of selections. We had...6 in our group this trip and everyone loved their selection. Our waitress this trip was Rachel and she was fantastic. They were very busy, but she gave us great service. Can’t wait till next year.More

Our party of seven went on a recommendation from a local. After a 40 minute + wait, we were seated. It was a busy Saturday. Our server “N” seemed to be distracted, she forgot two drinks and then one meal. The food was just okay....I’ll try another restaurant next visit.More

Food wasn’t good and my husband was sick within 20 min of eating. We both had Reuben sandwiches, but he had different meat on his. Waitress wasn’t friendly so not sure what the issue was but it was disappointing. I’d recommend picking a different place...to eat.More

I'm not sure what big square you're referring to. The Palace Saloon I went to was in Virginia City Nevada. At one time Virgina City was an active mining town. It's now a place to visit and get a sense of what life was like... More
