I was hoping for a standard Tex Mex type restaurant, and it was for the most part. I ordered the chicken fajitas and was expecting the usual dish sizzling on a skillet with freshly sautéed onions and green peppers. However, the fajita part was precooked chicken, peppers, onions in a sauce that, while not inedible, was not what I think... More

Very slow service. Very ordinary Mexican food. Had to wait to be seated, then wait for the menu. Waited 15 minutes for the check.

First, there are not a lot of dining options in Tonopah. However, from what I have gathered on both of my visits here, this restaurant is likely one of the best in town. Service is pretty good and the dining room atmosphere is OK. Both of the meals I have had here were good--better than I would have expected. The... More

The service was slow and the food and margaritas were very bland. The margarita tasted like a bottled mix with a tiny piece of lime dropped in. The salsa that came with the chips was quite tasty, but we had to ask for some to be served after our order was taken. They were somewhat busy and didn't seem to... More

Traveling on Highway 95 in Nevada, we stopped in Tonopah for lunch. The first place we stopped had a 1 1/2 hour wait due to a tour bus stopping there. We talked to the local Highway Patrol and they recommended El Marques. El Marques was busy but no wait and where seated right away. The wait staff is very friendly... More

This is my favorite place to eat in Tonopah. The service is quick and friendly. The food is authentic Mexican food. I usually get the Chile Rellenos. I highly suggest dining at the El Marques!!

Don't be in a hurry for your order, the place is pretty laid back. But the food is worth the wait! Fairly comprehensive menu, don't try ordering off the menu as the cook refuses most of the time. No matter, there's plenty of choices and the cheese enchilada as the favorite of this meat eater.

A neat and clean restaurant. My table was clean, not sticky, which is one of the first items I check. The Margarita was good, but have had better. My pork dish was well prepared and tasty, with fresh lettuce and tomatoes; the rice and beans were also good. The waitress was friendly, and the owner, who spoke with several other... More

The food is very fresh and it stays open late. It is within walking distance of the Mizpah Hotel. We were quickly seated and the food arrived quickly and was freshly made.
