A girlfriend and I stayed in South Lake Tahoe for a wedding this June. There is not much going on during this off-season for Lake Tahoe, so when we wandered by Cabo Wabo on Saturday night we were just happy to find a place to hang out and have some late night cocktails (who wants to go to bed at... I wasn't impressed with this location whatsoever. I've been to other Cabo Wabos and this one doesn't seem to be up to par. After seeing the quality of the service and food, we opted just to take shots at the bar and a cocktail and move onto the next, more entertaining, stop on our stay in Tahoe.

Don't waste your time. Very disappointed after hearing so many great things. Thought it would be festive like Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville in Vegas but very boring. Zero atmosphere unless you like the warehouse feeling with a couple of multi colored chairs and some pictures of Sammy...who cares! Service was so so....only three other tables and it still took ten minutes... More

I am not a lover of Mexican food but the salmon here, with a spice rub and a sauce may change my mind. I loved it! There Marquita's were VERY large. Thankfully they had a plastic glass with lid so i could take it with me. The chips and salsa were warm and tasty. There was just no room for... More

Saturday night at Cabo Wabo. Several bachelorette parties, and we did not see a single server. Had to go to the bar for every round of weak drinks. Cover band Mad Karma was decent.

Great bar with good food and excellent music....stayed far too late and with too many tequila's - but hey, we were on holiday!

I love the atmosphere of this place and the margaritas are pretty decent. The salsa with the chips was pretty awesome too! I ordered the Carne Asada plate and there was NO flavor. I was a little disappointed. We were seated in the open bar area and were not served for a whole 10 min. And I mean, no water,... More

This restaurant is owned by Sammy Hagar. His pics are all over the walls. And I mean everywhere. There website says 'authentic', but boy is it far from it. I can make better mexican food like that served at this restaurant. I do have to complement there salsa and chips. Nice thick, not breakable chips are served with a delicious... More

After outdoor concerts at the amphitheater this place gets crazy crowded. Definitely a rowdy party place. You may even see the artists or originator Sammy Hagar.
