Chose this place on the strength of the reviews and came away disappointed, we chose the Omelette with Jalapeno Bacon and it was very greasy, the Omelette itself was flat with no fluffyness at all, just not impressed, possibly the worse breakfast of our vacation :(

Unpretentious. Food was tasty but menu was average. They have a large "Fat Tire" (a beer) that caught my husband's eye but it isn't a bar. Beer, red or white wine (no uppity 'wine list') and maybe a mimosa or is available.

Red Hut is a Tahoe institution. I don't know that anything they serve is so much different than elsewhere, but it is the history, vibe, and personalities that make the food taste better. Weekdays are not as impacted, but you need to go early on the weekends if you don't want to wait. I long since moved from Tahoe, but... More

I had breakfast here July 2014. The restaurant was filled with about 90% locals and about 12 off duty police....This is a small restaurant that seats about 40 people. The service was terrific and the food was very good....I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting or staying at the South Shore of Lake Tahoe... This was my first visit and... More

We love Red Hut. Great breakfast for reasonable price. I had the French toast with blueberry streusel bread. It was delicious.

Not much more needs to be said of this local "chain" - - great breakfast and lunch spots in Carson City (US395), Stateline (SR207) and 2 South Lake Tahoe locations (US50@Ski Run and near Meeks).

Great spot with local flavor. Excellent food, good ambiance, great service. We stop here to power up before hitting the slopes.

I thought this was the only Red Hut Cafe because it looked like a little old Mom and Pop style restaurant ; but there are actually four other Red Hut Cafes in the Tahoe/Nevada area. The one we visited was on Kingsbury Grade in Stateline; and the reviews of the place were all excellent. It was so small that our... More
