Food With a Sunset View

Wow what a spectacular sunset that was accompanied by a great meal. That stuffed Tilapia was phenomenal and the shrimp and linguine was al dente. Try the cheesecake it is as good as what you get at Juniors in NYC. Would recommend this restaurant to all.

We used to live in the area and this was a good local place to go, with good views. We were back on vacation and decided to dine here. It was incredibly disappointing. The menu was uninspired and the food expensive and mediocre. The highlight was the shrimp cocktail, which was very good. That said, our waitress messed up our... More

We really used to enjoy this restaurant, have been there many times, however the past couple of times, did not really enjoy. The food quality has gone downhill, ordered the grilled chicken breast, it came out like chicken jerky, overcooked and overly charred. Sent it back for prime rib, not that great either. Used to really like the salad bar,... More

We love the Chart House restaurants. This one in particular has spectacular views and very attentive staff. We had dinner there for our anniversary. We were seated right away (without reservations!) and the food was delicious.

Looking for a special place to celebrate 2 birthdays during mini vacation at South Lake Tahoe. Searched TripAdvisor and decided on the Chart House which exceeded expectations. We were greeted by friendly staff who gave us a table with a great sunset view of the lake and a menu that said happy birthday! Our waiter was very attentive and nice.... More

Russ and Chelsea helped us tonight, and did a fabulous job with kids from 5 yrs to 86. We had a large party, and so couldn't enjoy the view, but the service was great. The salad bar was awesome!!! Isreal makes an amazing Ceasar's, and I enjoyed the three soup sampler, which was fantastic. The steaks were superb. The blackened... More

Visited the Chart House last night, primarily for a scenic view while dining. The view is great but the menu is just average and, for that, overpriced. We had the ahi tuna which had sinews in it. At $39, we did not expect this. Also had the seafood grill which looked like a breakfast fry-up when served at the table-... More

We've been here many times, and we are never disappointed. When uncertain as to what to order, the wonderful server was very helpful. Both seafood and steaks are great especially when you allow the chef to present the dish the way he envisioned it. A wonderul wine list and specialty drinks are inventive and fun. Love this place...recommend it to... More

After 6 years spending every time my birthday at the chart house, the food quality and the mixed drinks are getting worse!I love the view, it makes my soul soar to see the sunset over Lake Tahoe!then the food arrives, dry filet mignon, unedible salad , excellent lava cake! So go for desert and the view!!
