Hidden in the basement of the Lakeside Casino is the Latin Soul Restaurant. We had lunch there and enjoyed all the food we ordered. The chile verde was delicious and served with flavorful rice and beans. I ordered Yucca and it came like French fries. I have always had it boiled with garlic sauce but was happily surprised at the... More

A waitress from our dinner somewhere else the night before had raved about this restaurant for breakfast. However, we were very disappointed. The way she talked it up was nothing like what we got. I ordered a cheese enchilada with eggs and sausage and the the enchilada was like rubber and almost completely cold. The bloody mary's were tasteless. We... More

My family and I were looking for a nice place to eat in Lake Tahoe one evening. I had called the hotel concierge and he recommended a place that sounded pretty nice. It should go unmentioned in this review. After the reservation was made, I was curious and looked at their website and I saw the prices they were charging... More

Latin Soul occupies a small corner on a smoky casino basement floor. There's nothing upscale about the decor. From the outer look and location, it could be a small coffee shop to keep gamblers awake. Well, it isn't. Although listed among Mexican restaurants in most guides, it's quite a bit wider than that, some Mexican, some Cuban, and some South... More

When I mentioned to a friend while driving around Lake Tahoe that I was interested in Mexican food, he said, we've got to go to Latin Soul restaurant. His advice was excellent. We had a superb meal; all hand-made salsas, perfectly seasoned food, and well balanced flavors--not the heavy over-cumin spicing you get in so many places. The food was... More

If you can get past the Lakeside Inn (kind of old & small), you will love this restaurant. Service was great. The menu selection was hard because everything sounded so good. My husband had the goat barria (tasted like lamb) & I had the Mediterranean beef steak quesadillas. Very fresh ingredients & great flavors. Salsa & chips - yummy!! There... More

Return trip to Tahoe and we had to try Latin Soul again. Just as good as first time. This hidden gem needs a better location to go with the great food they serve, and that is the only reason they dont get 5 Stars. Tasting their food reminds me of recent vacation on the Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen.... More

Read the reviews on this restaurant and they are true. The service it very good. The person who seated us promptly gave us our table. Then a person asked us what we would like to drink followed by chips and salsa- nice. Then came our waiter who gave us some entrees to consider. He was very polite and patience with... More

A twist on Mexican, remember it is not Mexican, it is advertised as Latin food. The presentation is Is nice. We all liked the humus salsa. the chicken enchilada, salsa & chips. I liked the chili relleno. If the food was hotter we may have rated the restaurant higher.
