If you are trying to find a great sea food stew, then John A's Oyster Bar should be your first stop. If you want to enjoy a great meal and be entertained, then get a seat at the bar where you watch as each meal is prepared in the steam cookers. An experience you will remember for many years.

My wife and I take out of town guests to the oyster bar for a treat, but we sneak in every couple weeks and get a pan roast - rich creamy seafood broth over shrimp, crab and oysters - what a delight. Also great seafood Louis', Bouillabaisse, raw bar and clam chowder plus the Nuggets dessert - my favorite is... More

All the entrees the 4 of us selected were fantastic. We will go back again. The prices were fair, service was great and the decor was fitting to a seafood restaurant.

The seafood is always fresh and the pan roasts are wonderful and filling! The service was great and we enjoyed the warm bread upon being seated at our table.

I've been eating the Crab Pan Roast at the Nugget's Oyster Bar for decades, and am still willing to drive over 500 miles just to have more. This last visit, I found it can be made with 2% milk instead of heavy cream, and it is almost as good! The Oyster Bar is a fabulous place to eat, and I... More

What a great place. Authentic atmosphere, friendly service. Even better, if you are not a seafood lover, they will allow you to order from the steakhouse menu. This is a great service to their guests and shows how the staff is willing to make your party happy. The pan roast is delicious. It sometimes has a little too much salt... More

Went here for an early lunch before going to the movies. Very nice atmosphere and service. We ordered a dozen oysters and the red clam chowder. The bread is so yummy. Just an all round great dining experience. We have been going here since 1984, though hadn't been here for a few years - forgot had good it was. Will... More
