Good choice on road trip

We were driving through Sparks on our way home to Colorado and saw a lot of cars at the diner which is always a good sign. Excellent biscuits and gravy!

I got stuck in Sparks Nevada for a few day because of the weather and a friend of my told me to go to Black Bear restaurant and the portion of the plate was pretty good, but the bread pudding was outstanding!!!! Even better than the one I make LOL.

A friendly hardworking staff that offered a decent breakfast during a very busy time. I enjoyed watching the bear - a staff member in costume - that walked about drinking water from a LONG straw while still in her bear hat/mask while warming up from standing outside waving to potential clients.

Tastes like home with large portions. Friendly and clean. Relax and let them do the cooking. Always leftovers to go.

This is a high price chain. Food is fair. I have left hungry. I do not always like what they serve. I do not refer my friends to eat here. Very expensive for a diner.

It took a couple of minutes for somebody to acknowledge my presence and seat me but service was quick after that. Coffee refills were prompt and my breakfast was served quickly. The Portuguese sausage, red potatoes and eggs were delicious.

Cute theme, HUGE menu and decent diner service. The portions (and prices) are over-sized and you will roll out stuffed. Nothing fabulous about the food, but it is pretty good "diner-food." For a chain venue they do a pretty good job at keeping things fresh. The breakfast combo plates are gigantic - but overpriced.
