Their meal portions are huge, their bleu cheese dressing is great on their salads and as a dip. The lighter fare sections are nice cause you can have a steak or something else and it is almost like getting a regular meal at another restaurant, only cheaper. Gotta save room for the desserts, they are HUGE also.

We decided to stop in and eat breakfast here while visiting Reno, the service was really good, the food was excellent, and the portions huge. I have been to the one in Glendale but this was much better. If in a Reno give it a try you won't be disappointed.

I really enjoy the fresh salads at the black bear everyone else had breakfast. Once again the portions are very large and food pretty good. My hubby did love their biscuits at one point but now feels they have changed so now they are more a roll texture than biscuit and less enjoyable

This place has great food, and very reasonable prices. The biscuits are so big and fluffy. I usually don't like biscuits, but I do here! My kids like their jukebox, all the bears around the place, their coloring menu, etc. Their wait staff is attentive and caring.

are becoming our go-to place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner when we're on the road. We've been to four different ones and all seem to have the same menu and I kid you not, I think I like everything on there. At the Reno location I had the smaller portion of chicken fried steak and believe me, it was not... More

The Black Bear Restaurant in Reno is a must. The food is home-made. They do not use dehydrated potatoes, canned gravy or two-day old pre-baked breads and pastries. For those of us over 50, it is a "good old days" family atmosphere with something on the menu for everyone. Even the music is 50's and 60's. There are half-orders also,... More

When we travel we will always look for a Black Bear diner. The food is great, the service is great. We never leave hungry and this is no exception.

We have eaten before at this restaurant in Las Vegas, Nv. The food was as good in Reno as in Las Vegas. We went for breakfast only at both diners and the it was great! The portions are large, so beware if you are a light eater. They do a great job on the hash browns, eggs, country fried steak,... More

Stopped by here because nothing else looked or sounded good and the one in Sandy, Utah is very good. Food was very good, I had fish and chips and my son had chicken strips. plenty of food for the price. The place was pretty empty but it was late on a Monday night. I must say that our waitress was... They give you a lot, and it's pretty tasty too! This is a chain restaurant, however, they do a good job and provide a lot of food for the dollar. Homey, bear-themed restaurant, very comfy and spacious inside. Fast service. Surprisingly good, flavorful food! We had breakfast. Very reasonable prices. An easy drive from downtown and casinos, worth the trip,... More
