We have eaten before at this restaurant in Las Vegas, Nv. The food was as good in Reno as in Las Vegas. We went for breakfast only at both diners and the it was great! The portions are large, so beware if you are a light eater. They do a great job on the hash browns, eggs, country fried steak,... More

Stopped by here because nothing else looked or sounded good and the one in Sandy, Utah is very good. Food was very good, I had fish and chips and my son had chicken strips. plenty of food for the price. The place was pretty empty but it was late on a Monday night. I must say that our waitress was... They give you a lot, and it's pretty tasty too! This is a chain restaurant, however, they do a good job and provide a lot of food for the dollar. Homey, bear-themed restaurant, very comfy and spacious inside. Fast service. Surprisingly good, flavorful food! We had breakfast. Very reasonable prices. An easy drive from downtown and casinos, worth the trip,... More

Came here with my parents and boyfriend before we had to go to the airport. Normally, we try to go to places that aren't chains and are a little more on the health-conscious side, but this was close and the 'rents wanted to try it. Our server was nice and helpful, regardless of the fact that she had already been... More

I've eaten at several Black Bear Diners in Nevada and Oregon and there pretty consistent. Go hungry because the portions are HUGE.

The Black Bear restaurant is a short walk from the Peppermill. We ate there 9/16/2014, because we were no longer going to spend any more money at the Peppermill. We walked to the Black Bear Diner and ordered breakfast. They serve large portions of food and you will not go away from there hungry. We've never had a bad meal... More

He had the pot roast, I opted for the pork topped with spiced apples. Yum. Portions supposedly came in small size but you'd never know it from what was on my plate. Loved it.

When we first found this chain 3 weeks ago, we were drawn in by the chainsaw-carved bears in front of the place, and assumed that was characteristic of all restaurants in the chain. Not so. Here in Reno, the bears are inside and stuffed, or painted on the walls, napkins and dishes. It's the same great food and fast and... More

While waiting for my flight out, I ended up here for a late afternoon meal. I think any fast food place would have been better. This was the worst steak I have ever had. Half of it was gristle or inedible, while the other half was so tough my jaw hurt. The potato serving was huge but covered by an... More
