Planning to have my 80th birthday dinner here - we arrived around 2pm - July 25th - in between lunch and dinner it was easy to find a comfortable booth - Our server came to offer their menu on a printed small newspaper edition dated 1929 with articles and commercial ads of the era - with menu on the inside... The wait was short and the breakfast was just right with potatoes, eggs and great sausage. Service was great and the food came quickly.

We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. The food is tasty, plentiful, and the staff is efficient. This time we had the sweet cream waffle, 2 eggs, and 2 strips of bacon. Everything was delicious. We usually go for breakfast, but the lunch is also good.

The food was plentiful. It was of average quality. The atmosphere was aimed at the tourist trade. I enjoyed parts of the meal but would no be a regular.

We stopped here for brunch on our way out of Reno. We have eaten at many Black Bear Diners in various states, but I will say this one has the largest portions I have ever seen for the childrens menu. The food as always, was excellent, from pancakes to a omelette, and a chicken club sandwich. This restaurant was clean,... More

We went here for a late breakfast and it was nice to see the place so full of customers on a weekday! You can't be in a hurry when you dine here but if you have children, they will occupy some of their time with the coloring sheets and crayons they're provided at every visit! The bear theme is always... More

I've been to Black Bear several times in the last several months, always for breakfast. They have THE BEST pancakes I've ever had! Ever! The menu is fairly varied, the prices are a tad on the high side, but it's worth it if you bring your appetite with you, cuz their portions are pretty big! I've never had a bad... More

We went here on a Sunday morning for brunch. We had breakfast. I had the little Volcano, which was two pancakes - fluffy and sweet, one egg - scrambled perfectly, one slice of bacon - kinda fatty but flavorful, and one sausage link - very nice! My husband had the country special - one HUGE biscuit, covered with two scrambled... More

We were staying in Reno and after may buffet meals from the various casino's , we went to the Black Bear Diner. It was so quaint and the menu offered many selections. My niece was able to substitute the volcano with french toast instead of the pancakes and she said it was delicious. I had the Joe Hobo omelette with... More

Stopped by for Saturday morning breakfast, our server Teresa was the best. Everyone was friendly, the restaurant was clean and well maintained. We could not finish our breakfasts, the portions were large and the food was not greasy. We wish we had found the Black Bear for dinner the night before. Great place, we would return!
