A unique opportunity to have a traditional Basque meal served family style. The Basque are an important part of the local history. The food is plentiful. Come hungry. Be prepared to sit at a table with people you haven't yet met. Appreciate another culture.

My family has frequented the Santa Fe hotel for 3 generations. I cannot think of a better way to embrace Nevada's rich Basque culture than by paying a visit to the Santa Fe. The atmosphere is unique as is the family style food served there. Fill yourself to the brim with delicious soup - then the salad and homemade beans.... More

Very good basque food and of course a lot of it. The restaurant is located behind Harrah's and parking in their garage is convenient and free but there is also limited on street parking in front of the restaurant. Food is served family style but the night we were there we had a table by ourselves. Come hungry because you... More

This is the one time that you should judge a book by it's cover. The outside of the restaurant is a reflection of what is going on inside. The Santa Fe probably hasn't been updated since it first opened it's doors. The food comes "family style", but at one course at a time? The soup was brought out first (which... More

I haven't eaten here in 30 years and absolutely nothing has changed, it's like stepping into a time machine and being 30 years old again. Having said that, it's a good thing. Good Basque food, totally authentic and the manner in which one eats, if it's crowded, you may share a table with people you've never met, definitely part of... More

Good food, well prepared and served with smiles. Very palatable red wine to wash it down. All for under $20 a head, what’s not to like? Go and rediscover your youth; have a great evening out dining with total strangers who have suddenly become best friends by the miracle of sharing food and wine together. We enjoyed it so much... We had a group of 18, so this fit our needs well. The dining room is a giant hall with no decorations except long tables that fit 18-20 people each. That worked for our group, but if you don't like talking or sharing bowls of food with strangers, this isn't the place for you. We had a choice of paella... More

Family dining where they seat you with others at a banquet style table. Large portions of food and nice company. This is dining hall experience with service to your table. Only quibble was waitress failed to tell us the New York was extra $. You get wine with your meal and a chance to meet someone new. The food was... More

I had a Living Social deal for three tapas and two drinks at the Santa Fe Restaurant. I had read the reviews, and I was excited to try this restaurant on my visit to Reno. This was my experience: I located the restaurant. The neighborhood was scruffy, and the storefront next door had been smashed. I went in to the... More

I've enjoyed their basque family dinners and picon punches for years but didn't know they served tapas. Wow - the lamb chops are great. Actually every tapas plate we tried was wonderful. We had calamari, shrimp, meatballs, chorizo and it was all great. It's not known for atmosphere but the waitress could have had a little more personality - she... More
