We are in town for a week for a belated birthday celebration. I wanted a buffet but opted for this place since I don't want to deal with a buffet or casino crowd. We decided on no appetizers after seeing dinner meal came with salad & soup, bread & butter plus main entree. Which after all that food was a... More

This used to be one of the premier restaurants in Mesquite and then the chief left. Now there is a new chief/owner and the restaurant is making its way back. I would say the food is average Italian - but then there was a big group of us for a party. The dessert was great. Service great with the owner... More

Our options were limited arriving late from East Coast- menu sounded promising with Italian theme. But food very disappointing and ordinary. Dover sole coated in batter and covered in same sauce as chicken piccata. Frozen veggies and underdone potatoes. Calamari appetizer passable. Bread- frozen dough. How about fresh locally produced food?

First off, let me say that the service was very good. The food is old 1960's era bad Italian food. All the same sauce on every dish. Salad with packaged croutons and overly sweet dressing. I ordered the veal, and still am not sure if it was veal. I guess some people like it because they are stuck in a... More

I appreciated the food and the atmosphere, being in the 55+ age group. It reminded me of restaurants in the 1980's as far as extensive menu, largish portions, sauces, moderate prices, decor. BUT what is wrong with that, when you think of it? The service was professional and efficient. The staff was just friendly enough. Thats good too. A refreshing... More

My fiance and I were staying at the hotel that Hugos is located in. (AKA: Assisted living home that never came to fruition...No. Really) We decided to stop in Mesquite for our one night stay because it was about 100 bucks cheaper than staying in Vegas on a Sat night....Anyhoo. Fiance was hungry so we decided to scope out the... More

We had been looking for an Italian restaurant and someone recommended this one (they raved about it). Again-most people in this town are looking for large portions at cheap prices. I found the food here to be really quite bad and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The veal in the veal parmesan was a deep-fried, over-cooked breaded hockey puck with... More

Enjoyed a casual evening dinner with my golf buddies after a game. The restaurant location is bit deceiving, as it is adjoined to extended stay hotel/apartment complex. The atmosphere is not flashy but very comfortable. The service was excellent with professional friendly people, in addition to the chef coming out to greet us! The Italian food was delicious and the... More

If you've eaten good Italian food, Hugo's won't make you happy. It's primarily for the local golfing crowd who don't seem to mind. But, otherwise rather mediocre food and service. Boring salad or soup, sticky thick sauces that overwhelm the food, and dry-ish chocolate cake for dessert. You don't leave hungry, but we won't be back.
