Great atmosphere, happy hour, jukebox

It's dark and the interior is like a cool old Victorian-era mansion meets castle. Good rock and roll jukebox and the happy hour (just from 5-6) is very cheap. But whenever you're there, the bartenders are very friendly and they pour the deepest drinks around. If you're lucky, there might be a... read more

This is a great place to go in and relax. The fireplace was going the night we went in after visiting the Downtown Cocktail Lounge. Stayed for a very long time. Comfortable sofas, great bartender! All in all I will be going back next time I'm in LV.

I've been to The Griffin quite a few times and each time is a different (awesome) experience. I especially like going on a mid-week afternoon when it's less crowded and I can get a spot by one of the fireplaces. I'm trying to work my way through their amazing selection of beers, a task I fear I will never complete... More

Wasn't as good as many of the reviews I had read before visiting. It is funky and has minimal lighting, but if you are in the area then the Commonwealth is a better bar.

Tucked all the way down towards the East end of Fremont Street is the Griffin. It's very smoky, I cannot imagine how they manage to still smoke in there, but it's a fact. It's also extremely noisy: loud, Barbarian music that is deafening. Now that you know the Cons, here are the Pros: excellent, and I mean excellent selection of... More

Good drinking bar for those who like good drinking bars. Dark, more dark and darker still, its interior is either straight from the 1970s - I described in as "the sort of bar one could see in the show 'Charlie's Angels' during the Farrah Fawcett era" - or constructed to look like such. Either way, it's a huff of smokey... More

I'm not sure why there's a restaurant rating option for this place, I have no idea if they have a kitchen or not. What I do know is, it is one of the coolest bars anywhere. The decor is totally dungeon, but not in a scary way. It's fantastic how they have preserved this place as huge hotels were constructed... More

Met a friend here on a Sunday. It's way at the end of the "Fremont street experience". Super dark in there with fire pits which I felt was very cool. Not cocktail waitresses, just had to go to the bar. I had a vodka tonic which was good and strong. No gaming in this bar. Good music and nice dark... More

This reminds me of my college bar days. Great atmosphere with a ton of people just drinking and hanging out. Nothing too crazy. The lit fires are awesome but you will leave smelling like a campfire.

Love this bar, its hippy, hipster, downtowner raw with a divey feel. I love the place, some will NOT, small and cosy for a date or a small group. Dark in there and dugeon friendly, but fun. Under 40 go, over 50 dont go!
