Must try local restaurant

We wanted to eat somewhere the locals eat. Heard about this place and it was everything and more. Our 15-20 minute wait was only 5 minutes. Right away this tells me this place is run like a fine oiled machine. The place is decorated with hundreds of bears and has some items for sale like honey and... read more

I went to the black bear diner ("BBD") during my quick visit to Vegas in June 2015 with my 16 year old. BBD is located in an "iffy" neighborhood and its a few miles off the strip. You're not going to have a gourmet meal in a nice suit at BBD but you are going to get good food and... More

We come here quite frequently, especially now that we have a little one (great if you have kids). We've had meals here at breakfast, lunch and dinner, and I haven't ever been disappointed in anything I've ordered. Now with a small family, we usually do come here for breakfast - portions are big, and prices are right. I usually get... More

Overall our experience was good. The biscuit was so light and fluffy that at first glance it looks like a roll, but it tastes heavenly. The sweet cream pancakes were amazing. However, word to the wise, if you don't like fennel, don't eat the homemade sausage. If you love fennel, you'll love the sausage.

This is currently my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas. Huge portions, great soul food, breakfast at all times of day. It has that mom and pop diner feel, fun menu, and again GREAT food. Server made a few mistakes but was a great conversationalist and recovered. I have no idea how it took me 3+ years in Las Vegas to... More

We tried another Black Bear Diner in Auburn, CA. and the food was so great we decided to eat here when we came to Vegas. We were not disappointed. Food was great. Staff very friendly. But busy, busy, busy. Had to wait for a table. And noisy because the mass of humanity eating. Reasonably priced. Definitely would eat here again.

Heaping plates of food for breakfast, we should have split it, but I still devoured the biscuits and gravy. Bought one of their coffee mugs as a keepsake and it keeps coffee warm longer than any cup I have, should have bought several. Friendly staff kept the coffee coming.
