What a gem! This place is incredible. The portions are LARGE and you certainly don't go hungry! My daughter actually started to tear up when they brought her the three pancakes- she said with a stifled sob, "why do they even OFFER three?" LOL! We all got a kick out of it. There is more than enough and the prices... More

I've eaten at Black Bear several times and have never been disappointed. I'm usually heading there for breakfast. The eggs are nothing special, but an order of bacon is huge (4 big slices), thick and tasty. I've also had the chicken fried steak and that gets close to what I know I can find in Texas. They offer huge biscuits... More

I had heard about Black Bear Diner, and have been driving past it for years. After working a little late I decided to stop in and see for myself. Decor is eclectic, a little worn, and slightly junky, but mostly clean. I was seated right away. Menu is much like a single sheet newspaper which you can, apparently, keep if... More

A couple of months ago while on vacation in the Bay Area I ate at the Black Bear Diner and was pleasantly surprised, so when I learned that there was one in my own city I couldn't wait to go and I was once again happy with the experience. In a city where restaurants have to complete with all of... More

This is a small diner by Smiths grocery on W Trop just down from our time share. I got the Denver omelet and the wife got pancakes and fresh fuit. Service was good, but food was just OK. Pancakes are thick and fluffy with sweet cream, which we felt over powered the pancake. Unfortunately the fruit was a melon mix... More

Treated like family the minute you enter the door. We stopped in on a Friday, no wait seated in a back booth. a Chorizo scramble & eggs over with corned beef hash were ordered. Both were prepared perfectly. Just a great place to eat.

The service was great. This was my second time visiting the diner. If I come back to Vegas I will definitely come back. Everyone was so attentive and friendly. The staff loves what they do and it shows. Thanks!!!

We are always looking for local places to eat especially as an escape from the ever present buffets. We read an article in the Wall St Journal where Rick Moonan (a Top Chef Master & Top Chef Judge) said this is where he has breakfast. It's about 6 miles from the strip. The choices are many, the pancakes divine, bacon... More

We've been to a Black Bear in Utah so we knew we should be getting great food. And we did! The ladies ordered meatloaf and the guys fried chicken and pork cutlets. All four were great. Super gravy on the mashed potatoes and meatloaf. Cinnamon apples with the pork was as good as it gets. I would highly recommend this... More
