the location is a little scarey, older part of the strip in a strip mall BUT the steaks were great! would definately go there again.

Service was very good. I almost could go to excellent except the bus boy keep swarming around me to get my plates. The food is really average when you factor the cost. I have had better for the price. It was very good but over-priced. Fun to see what a Vegas eatery from the hay day of the Rat Pack... More

Forget the celebrity chef hype - had a client dinner at Craft Colicchio Steakhouse in the MGM, no offense, but the Golden Steer beats it by a mile. In service, quality, atmosphere - how can you top great food, prepared without attitude in style, in a classic setting? We sat in John Wayne's booth and enjoyed a great steak dinner.

Well it's the 60s again and I'm in Joey Bishop's booth. We're eatin' dover sole, prime rib and veal marsala with asparagas. escargo, and nuclear sized baked potatoes....topped off by bananas foster table side...all made and delivered perfectly without a fuss by guys in tuxedos....I'm getting to the point where I can't abide the celebrity chef thing around here anymore....except... From the drinks to the appetizers, salads, sides and main course the Golden Steer hit it in the head again. This was my second trip to the restaurant and it was just as good as the first. Escargot was the best I've ever had and French onion soup that is made daily was phenomenal. 4 stars because of the crabby... More

I've lost count of how many times I have eaten at the Golden Steer. I've been eating at the Steer for more than fifteen years, and I have literally never been disappointed. This is the place that I always take first time visitors to Las Vegas. My go-to dinner is the Cesar Salad (made table-side), filet mignon ("the aristocrat of... More

If you remember The Flame you remember a great steak house from years gone by in Las Vegas. A trip to the Golden Steer will bring back those memories. Booths are named for the Rat Pack member that used to favor that particular booth. We sat in Dean Martin's. The food is excellent. Huge steak and very large lobster. We... More

The only word I can use to describe the Golden Steer without using profanities is DIABOLICAL. Whilst out on the Vagas strip one evening we asked a concierge outside the Bellagio where we could go for a great steak dinner and he instantly recommended the Golden Steer saying that it was an amazing place filled with history and outstanding food.... One of our group has a taste for the days of the Rat Pack and glamorous Las Vegas of the past even though he is only 33. This was a Rat Pack hang out and the past is alive and well there. I had heard that the food was great and it did not disappoint. This place is off the... More

Hard to find (near the Stratosphere) so ask a taxi driver - if you like a good steak this place is a must. It is not really frequented by tourists. only those in the know come here. The hostess will gladly sit down and tell you stories of how the Rat Pack, Elvis and The Mob frequented the place. It... More
