A little bit of Vegas Nostalgia...

If you don't mind dropping a few bucks at a very good restaurant, try the Golden Steer. They have been there since 1958! Food is very good, service is excellent, but, a bit on the pricey side. Everything a la carte. Our bill was $150.00, no drinks, no dessert. I had poached salmon, my husband pork... read more

On or most recent trip to Las Vegas we decided to try a place to eat that was off the Strip. After a search of the internet we chose the Golden Steer Steak House. What a great choice we made. Don't be concerned that it is located in a Strip Mall just off the strip. Once inside you are in... More

This was one place on our list we never got to before and we are so sad we didn't sooner! We will eat here every trip we make from now on. The decor was the epitome of an old school Vegas steak house with high red leather booths and golden chandeliers. I was over the top impressed and loved every... More

Absolutely fantastic place. Real authentic Las Vegas. Food is to die for and i mean fabulous. Staff are so polite and respectful. The meal wasn't even expensive really. Good service all around and the place has a celebrity aura. Going back next year, can't wait 😊

Old school steak house. Not much more needs to be said. I had the Fillet Mignon topped with crab, asparagus & Hollandaise sauce..... It was probably the best steak I've ever had. The menu is ala carte and a steak is about $50, so plan accordingly. This is a classy, old school restaurant, so don't come in here wearing baggy... More

A family member who lives in Vegas recommended this place for our anniversary dinner. "Oldest steakhouse in Las Vegas". It was wonderful! My husband ordered the 18 ounce prime rib- huge and delicious! I ordered the 8 ounce petite filet- absolutely delicious. We shared a gigantic baked potato which was perfect for two people. The atmosphere was great, the waiters... More

Filet mignon was overdone and tough. Prime rib was fatty and tough. Special garlic bread was awful and Caesar salad limp and tasteless. The prices are sky-high. There are 100 better steak houses in Vegas. Do not get suckered in to the nostalgia. The meats are awful.

With all the competition in dining with the city of Los Vegas, it took a Groupon to discover this gem. First, from the neighborhood, thee is not much expectation for a dining treat. It is behind the Greatest (and biggest) Souvenir Shop on the strip and in Vegas! And within sight of a gigantic strip club. But once you enter... More

We went here with a few friends from out of town, and our overall experience was highly positive. I suggest doing what we did is to share the different types of steak to get a sampling of the different cuts. 5 of us were able to share 3 steaks with the sides. The dessert and salad are also great.

I was very excited to get to the Golden Steer given its storied history with the Rat Pack and the Golden Age of Las Vegas. It's smaller than I anticipated with many darkly lit booths and corners for mingling. If only the walls could talk they'd have many, many stories to tell. The wait staff was impeccable and very accommodating... More
