Excellent ambiance, good food

Great for business or personal dinner meeting. Feels like Sinatra, Elvis, Sammy Davis or Dean Martin could walk in at any moment. Always have had excellent service and food at Golden Steer. Been there many times, will continue to patronize.

On our recent trip to Las Vegas we had dinner at the Golden Steer. We had heard it was the best steak in town. The Golden Steer is not to far from the strip, an easy taxi ride from our hotel, The Palazzo. The taxi dropped us off at an old strip center, the restaurant looks kind of questionable from... More

Decided to try out a few steakhouses while i was in town and found the Golden Steer during my search. I initially drove past it because i wasn't expecting it to be stuck onto the end of a small strip mall, but there it was in one of the most unassuming places for such an old restaurant. On entering, the... More

I have visited this restaurant at least yearly since 1980. It had a great "Rat Pack" ambiance, wonderful bartenders and great prime steaks. My last visit will probably be my last. The bartender was rude and unfriendly. Ordered a martini, which by the way was $16. She never spoke to ask where I was from, Had I been there before,... More

Old school old Vegas. Our party did not enjoy their steaks, but my prime rib was perfect. Creamed spinach was terrible. Their famed Caesar salad was pretty average. Get a table in room with blue leather booths.

My husband and I visited here in January 2015 but I'm just now getting around to submitting my review. We came here per a recommendation from my brother and sister in law who were here a few months ago. We reviewed the menu on line prior to our trip so we knew what to expect as far as the prices.... Located a little bit off the strip, and with a non descript appearance, one could be fooled into thinking that this is a forgettable restaurant. That would be incorrect - the service is fabulous, the ambiance throws back to the classics - white table linnens, pictures of celebrities, and a place where a quiet conversation can be held without any... The Golden Steer has been there open since 1958 and has that old 60's and 70's Vegas feel. Red leather booths, waiters in tuxedos and huge steaks. We enjoyed the steaks and added a lobster tail and were thrilled with the whole meal. It is simple food, but extremely well done. I believe that a restaurant that can serve simple... More

Restaurant has been open since 1958. One of the 1st steak houses in Vegas.Shrimp cocktail was the best.Orders a Rib Eye with the bone-in. 24 ounces.. Steak was cooked properly, but the steak was like really thin, and didn't quite have the flovor of a thick steak.

When in Las Vegas, if you want to avoid the modern glitzy atmosphere and seek back to the genuine masculine elegance found in the Sinatra Era, you can find some of it here. This is a family owned restaurant with white table cloths, dark suited waiters, who are professional. The kitchen makes fantastic steaks, however we couldnt help notizing the... More
