This is not a restaurant to go to if you want glitz and glamour. It is a family owned place for multiple generations. Everything is delicious. But the salsa is the thing. Once you try it you'll crave it. I like the chunky style, my husband the smooth one. We are locals here in Las Vegas so we've tried most... More

It is so small that people in their business suits line up outside beginning at about noon on weekdays. They've been in business here for about 40 years. Save room for the sopapillas!

This restaurant is on a word of mouth thing. You would never just happen on this restaurant. It is family owned and fabulous! It's all authentic old fashioned food. Everything on the menu is excellent!

The absolute huevos con papas in the world including my trips to Chapala, Mexico. Try it with the green chili.

The salsa with the chips is clearly homemade and not out of a can. Fresh tomato flavors with the right amount of spicy notes. My favorite is the green chile sauce over the burrito. Good value with rice and beans.

I've been going to this restaurant for over 20 years and the food is always great. My favorite is the chile verde - nice chunks of pork and green chiles served with fresh flour tortillas. Yum!!!

This is by far the best mexican food in the Vegas area. The location and exterior may scare some people away and those who do miss out big time! The Cheese Enchildas are to die for. We always take the out of town relatives and friends to this place and they've all enjoyed the food. In two words... GOOD STUFF... More

The El Sombrero is the oldest Mexican restaurant in Las Vegas. It's a bit small but that's what makes this restaurant special. Their food tastes just like my grandma used to make.

An old showbiz friend introduced me to El Sombrero. He said it was the best Chili Verde in town. I have to agree. Two days later, I went back for lunch. I tried their Albondigas Soup. WOW!! It was packed with small meatballs that were delicioso. Teresa explained the process and the reason they are so good. She bakes them... More

The beans are definitely from a can and the rice is not Spanish rice - try Rice-A-Roni! I was embarrassed that I selected this place and introduced a co-worker to it on Cinco de Mayo (today). The kitchen is very slow and the prices are ridiculous. They charge $10 for a modest sized combination “lunch” plate and Mexican food costs... More
