My visit to Viva Las Arepas was my first experience at a traditional Venezuelan restaurant, and I can say that the food did not disappoint. I ordered the Chicken Half or "Medio Pollo Asada" dish with black beans and basmati rice for the sides. The dish was delicious and although I have had chicken, rice, and black beans before... The... I had a great experience here, trying Venezuelan food for the first time. The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere full of cultural décor. The menu had a good variety and I liked that they had specialty beverages from Venezuela. The dining room had a clear view to the kitchen and it was apparent that they cook everything fresh upon... I came here as an assignment in a culture and cuisine class I am taking at UNLV. I had never tried Venezuelan food before, but I really wanted to give it a try. I had also heard great things about Viva Las Arepas. I heard that the food was excellent, most importantly authentic, and that it was also inexpensive (an... More

Flix Arellano and his wife Alix Molina are the owners of this wonderful restaurant, Viva las Arepas, with Authentic Venezuelan Food, located at 1616 S Las Vegas Blvd, Suite 120, Las Vegas, Nevada. The wood-fired flavor comes from the grill that is wood-fired inside the building in the open kitchen located behind the glass counter. I ordered Pebellon Arepa with... More

The arepas are the best I've tasted since I discovered them in Puerto Rico years ago. Beef empanada, delicious. The fire grilled chicken was amazing with rice, black beans and a extra fried plantains, $10.... Just north of the Stratosphere....

Been hearing nothing but good feedback coming out of this place. Extremely friendly staff. And all I can say is the wood grill chicken is outstanding! I will definitely be returning

We absolutely loved this place, from the guy behind the counter explaining to us what was what, to actually tasting the food. If we ever return to Vegas, we will most definitely stop here. The magic is most definitely further down the main strip, i.e., Vegas Nightlife.............

We stopped in for lunch by accident and would definitely come back on purpose. Empanadas were very good. The Pabellon was fantastic. Great beans and fried plantains.
