The Forest Buffet at Harrah's used to be a really nice buffet. Elegant atmosphere and great food. It has changed! Atmosphere feels like Circus Circus buffet. Lots of kids running around, dining furniture looks very worn and the windows are dirty. (The view is one of the main attractions) The food is just average. It didn't even look appealing. The... There was a power outage from 4 - 9 PM on 7/20/2014 that included the whole south end of the lake to the best of our knowledge. Gaming continued, but dining options were very limited. Our reservation at a local Italian restaurant was worthless as they were unable to serve. Friday's Station at Harrah's was closed but the maitre d'... More

Buffets are usually a hit or miss proposition. The Forest Buffet at Harrah's Lake Tahoe scores more hits if you plan properly: SUGGESTIONS: It was a busy Thursday in Tahoe with concerts and a golf tournament, but it's always a good idea to get there a half-hour early before its opening at 5:00pm. They will open the line 15-minutes early.... More

It's a buffet. It is the reason America is the greatest country in the world. Lots of food, not the best food, but lots of it. The fresh fruit and veges were great, nice salad selection, very fresh and tasty. The Asian selection is decent, the food was hot and plentiful. Soups, ribs, chicken, potstickers, chow mein, etc. The prime... More

So, after settling into our room at Harrah’s, we headed up to the 18th floor for supper at “Harrah's Forest Buffet.” The Forest Buffet actually did not open until 5:00PM, so I thought we would “beat the crowd” by arriving before they opened. “Boy was I in for a shock!” We arrived several minutes early and I thought we would... This buffet is on the 18th floor of the Harrah's Lake Tahoe hotel & casino. Get a seat near the window and you'll be treated to a fantastic view of the surrounding area, including the lake. The food was decent. I've been to many buffets and I don't expect gourmet fare, but for some reason I felt let down by... More

We went for Sunday Brunch and I liked it. If you want fine dining go to one of the two restaurants, one on the top floor of Harvey's and one on the top floor of Harrah's. We did that one night too. Now, back to the buffet. It was a Sunday mimosa brunch and I thought it was fine. I... More

Walked from our hotel down on the strip (that was a walk!) The hostess at the register (Donna--I remember this because my boyfriend was joking with her) was very friendly, warm and inviting. We were seated quickly, by a window...for some reason this cozy table for two didn't have us sitting across from eachother but at a side of the... More

Horrible experience...terrible tasting, over priced food. We felt like we were dining at a hospital. For $25 a person you'd expect a good variety and food that is actually tasty. First of all they do not want anyone eating healthy...as the salad bar was so tiny it didn't even qualify as a salad bar! The sushi was no better than... More

Main attraction for us was the proximity to the ski resorts. Other than that I would not stay there again. We're not big gamblers so the casino, for us was nothing but a nuisance. The casino was constantly filled with smoke and the filtration system is terrible. The only way to get to our rooms was through the casino and... More
