Being a local I eat here often and every single time has been a great experience. They have a large sushi bar but also other seating options as well. The sushi chefs are well schooled in the art of sushi making. The fish is always of the highest possible available quality and fresh. The service is great and the atmosphere... More

OM Goodness! Rock n Roll was my absolute fav roll. Eel, avocado and macadamia nut! Seriously so good and a definitely hook for me to return when next in town! Small, located in a strip mall and not much to look at in the inside, this place is definitely a diamond in the rough. The selection is a little limited... More

We are from northern CA where the seafood doesn't get too much more fresh, so we get very spoiled by our sushi restaurants. This one did not disappoint! There was a miscommunication on a drink order, and when the waitress brought it out and was told it was wrong, she gave it to us anyway at no cost AND immediately... More

I walked in and sat at one of the high top tables just off the sushi bar. Place was moderately busy, certainly not full. I was completely ignored by the staff for almost 10 minutes and then just gave up and walked out. Nobody said "be right with you or even acknowledged my presence with one server walking right past... I miss Carlos. He really made the place special, and his rolls were magnificent. The owners are especially nice people, and their sushi rolls can't be beat in the Tahoe area. However, their prices are not for the faint hearted. They are one of the most expensive sushi restaurants in the area.

My wife & I eat at Yoshimi three or more times/month. I'm stuck in a rut: Shrimp, steamed white rice, & a beer - it's so good, I see no need to try anything else. My wife has tempura, tootsie rolls, and a glass of white, tries seaweed salad occasionally. We interact with the owners' family as most regulars do.... More

I guess there is usually a big wait at this restaurant, but I was lucky - I got there just as they opened. Since I was there alone, I sat at the sushi bar and had some of the best sushi I've ever had. The portions were generous and I noticed that the sushi chef cut some big pieces of... More

This family owned restaurant is absolutely amazing. Fresh food. Nice and friendly employees. The sushi portions are huge and the vegetable tempura is great. Tuesdays they have live music too.

We come here every year when vacationing and this sushi restaurant isn't what we remembered. The waitress was fantastic, made a fun rum drink for us and was severed very quickly. We ordered a few rolls and they were on the bland side with no creative sauce or "wow" factor. It was good, just not memorable.
