This Char Pit doesn't have the hole in the wall ambience of the Char Pit in King's Beach, CA but sits in side the State Park in Nevada and is steps from the beach. Cheeseburger and fries with a Longboard draft or a Char Runner on the beach is hard to beat. This is a beautiful state park and great... More

Expect crowds, but the food from this little place is delicious! I had the Cajun Chicken sandwich and my husband had the Hawaiian Chicken. Both were great, the service is really slow, so don't be in a hurry.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this place when we visited Sand Harbor. I was expecting to find more of a concession-stand type place. Definitely casual, indoor and outdoor seating, nice views of the beach. Burgers and fries were GREAT....and yummy malts and ice cream too.

After a long day of playing in the snow, this little whole-in-the-wall was just what the Dr. ordered. We had gyros, burgers, and onion rings... and it sure hit the spot! Everything was delicious. Our food arrived quickly, despite the fact that there were quite a few people there. We shall return the next time we're in the area!

You must go once. A road side institution, aptly named, The Char Pit was a wonderful stop. Nothing fancy, but burgers, ribs, et al cooked probakly the same way for the last 50 years. Hit the spot, I would recommend.

Great food, good service, expect a wait when there's 30 tickets in front of yours and you waited in line for a while, if you want the quality of food that they offer let it cook and shut up, just enjoy yourself in such a beautiful place...

We have terrible experience there. Because this restaurant is just one in all Sand Harbor Park you have to expect to wait your orders for long time ( around 45 min at least). Personel is so slow and rude including a chef and supervisor .We was waiting for our order ( one salad , one burger and ice cream) during... More

The Char Pit is now open in Sand Harbor State Beach! I had my favorite veggie burger there the first day open (Saturday), and it was fantastic as usual. Great local micro brew beer on tap, ribs, burgers how you love them, even soft ice cream cones, malts, shakes and banana splits! Everything you would want for a hot day... More
