Scenery or Sushi

I won’t keep you in suspense. This restaurant has very good sushi. The sashimi was some of the best, the sushi rolls were well made and tasty. The same goes for the fresh oysters. (The basket of bread on the table seemed out of place for a sushi restaurant.) Our waitress was very friendly and... read more

Nothing says sushi & Japan like the ding of slot machines. The fish itself -a good clean, fresh taste but the menu lacked content and creativity. Prices are comparable and expected. The service was inconsistent, my server, she couldn't be bothered, every other one wère a bit more helpful. I was a bit disappointed but shouldn't have expected much. The... More

We started with the ecstacy which is known everywhere else as a screaming O. It was a little sub par. It was really small and just a little too spicy. We both were started with some nice warm bread and butter and a very friendly waitress. We ordered the lobster rolls and they were fantastic. Hardly any mayo and just the... More

I had purchased a reward by playing the MyVegas game on facebook. It was a free appetizer at Tides. A friend had dined at this restaurant, and he highly recommended the Cajun peel and eat shrimp. If you were to purchase this appetizer, 1/2 lb. would be $12. I ordered a glass of wine, and some fish tacos as well.... More

On our most recent visit, we shared the crab cake appetizer that is most notable for its zesty remoulade sauce. My wife chose as an entree a combination pan roast that included shrimp, crab and lobster in a finger lickin' brandy, cream and tomato sauce. Meanwhile I ordered the cioppino – a seafood stew boasting a medley of seafood that... More

Party of 5 for a business lunch. Food was good, but I expected better based on the resort dining guide stating it was rated best Sushi in the area. My California roll was loosely rolled and fell apart when attempting to pick up with my chopsticks. It was not busy at all, but service was slow.

Last time we ate here it was average at best. Since some time had elapsed we decided to give them another chance. Tides disappoints on every level, except one. Their shrimp tempura ($12) was exceptional, as was the presentation. The Bouillabaisse ($23) was watery, tasteless, and what I now refer to as their RED TIDE special. Stomach has been complaining... I have eaten here a handful of times over the years easy to sit at the bar on those occasions you are on your own. TV screens surround the bar and they go out of their way to put whatever game you want to watch on. I generally have the cioppino an Italian style seafood stew or soup loaded with... More

We happened to be in the neighborhood, it happened to be lunch time, we happened to be hungry and I happened to have a pair of MyVegas rewards good for free appetizers – does the word serendipity come to anyone else's mind? We started with a pound of peel and eat Cajun shrimp that were spicy and finger lickin' good.... More

We tried this restaurant for the first time last week and were pleasantly surprised, both by the quality and quantity of the food, but also with the affordability of a delicious seafood meal. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very casual so we didn't feel out of place in our street clothes. I would eat here again in... More
