Wow, what a treat!

We weren't expecting table service, and were surprised to see the chilled ice cream bowl and old fashioned metal mixer cup for my husband's chocolate malt. My pistachio ice cream was DELICIOUS, and my husband loved his malt.

I stayed at the super 8 in Fernley it is in a central location. Steve's Homemade Ice Cream is in the strip mall south of the motel. Steve's Homemade Ice Cream has over 30 flavors, it was a tough dicition although settled for the Rocky Road and was very pleased with the flavor and texture, the service was great.

Stopped in for ice cream and got a hot Cherry pie Ala mode and an ice cream cone. Wife enjoyed her cone and I enjoyed the pie. Fast, gracious service. It's easy to see why people keep dropping into this establishment. Quality, quality, quality!

So refreshing and yummy. His ice cream is smooth and delicious. It's so wonderful to have such a great spot to take grand kids to and of course my special craving place that fills my tummy with that homemade ice cream comfort.

We really enjoyed our ice cream here on our one night stop in Fernley. I was a little confused about the setup - more like an order-at-the-bar restaurant than most ice cream places. You order your ice cream at the counter, a waitress delivers it to your table, and then brings a bill when you're done. You pay your bill... More

We were actually referred to Steve's by the Black Bear Diner. My wife and I each had a two scoop cup which seemed more like a half pint! The Butter Pecan and Cherry Vanilla were both smooth and creamy.

We came across Steve's home made ice cream place by accident on the way from salt lake to Tahoe. Friendly and chatty service - we tried 4 different flavours all of which yum. We would recommend a stop in fernley just to try Steve's ice cream :)

As I am very frugal, I do not go here often, but it is reasonably priced for what it is. Competing with McDonald's in the same parking lot, Steve has done very well for himself. Loved by the locals! Must admit he product has that extra creamy ice cream taste, even in the soft serve, which has a lower fat... More
