Well what can I say, I came, I ate, I waddled out! This place has been good to me and my family for 4 generations. On our yearly migration back to the family spread in Wyoming we always make Elko a stop, JUST to go to the Star Hotel. Traditional Basque cooking and lots of it. I think there are... More

Wow! Come hungry or don't come!!! Served family style, this restaurant is for hearty appetites. The entrée is huge then you're served three different types of beans, salad, soup, bread, and a mountain of French fries. This is truly gluttony heaven! If you don't request a "to go" box, I am exceptionally impressed. The problem with all this is that... More

My brother and I are on a flying trek in an antique airplane in the Southwest. One of our stops is in Elko, Nevada. We asked our cab driver "Where's the best steakhouse in Elko?" He said, "Definitely, the Star Hotel. In fact, I think it's the best steakhouse in Nevada." So, that's where we went. And, boy, was he... More

If you're traveling thru Elko, NV the Star Hotel is a must, probably the best Basque food I have had. Dinners are served family style in a very friendly and casual atmosphere. Nothing stingy here when it comes to portion size. Try the petite filet, melt in your mouth deliciousness! I admit I was leary of the cabbage soup wow... More

Steaks, whatever you pick, are to die for. $30 a person but it is all worth it. Your meal starts with a cabbage soup, then a very delicious green salad and bread. Then your sides keep filing up in front of you which includes: spaghetti, baked beans, green beans, and french fries. Steaks are mouth-watering and very tender. We try... More

If you're traveling thru Elko, bring your appetite for a big feed, family style. Save room for your entree. The opening soup is quite good. Skip most of the bland iceberg lettuce and forget about the spaghetti that is like chef-boy-r-dee. The fries and beans are nice. The roast lamb is tasty lamb shanks. The grilled chicken is nice and... More

Great food, family style seating. It can get busy but it is worth the wait because the food is that good.

I was taken to this restaurant by a friend and what a surprise. The food was extremely good and lots of it. The two of us spent $20 and we walked out of the place stuffed. We had to take boxes back to the hotel because the servings are ginormous! The food was excellent but the service was even better-friendly... More

Food and wait was fast. Great family style and tons of food. Might think of splitting a meal or you will have a few to go boxes. Could us a little updating in the bar. Signature drink is worth it. Service was good and for the amount of food, prices are worth it
