The food here was good and the portions are huge. Once we ordered the food came out very fast. The pork and beef all seemed to be cut very thin and cooked the same way - a little weird. Spicing and flavors were very good. Excellent value - each plate cold feed two people so unless you want a bunch... More

Fast and friendly service. Good sized portions. Attention is paid to presentation as well as cooking. I grew up in San Francisco, and am happy that Chef Cheng's is in Elko.

This restaurant has been voted in the top 100 best Chinese Restaurant in the US and I can see why. My family loves the egg drop soup. So much we get a large order of soup to go every time! It is the equivalent of 2 large sodas. The ham fried rice is awesome & veggie egg rolls have such... More

Take the extra salt out the broth and the garlic pork and you have great food. The service and caring of the staff was excellent. Another table complained about the salty/ overly soy sauced food, so it wasn't just me. Another table had egg foo young that looked fantastic. The restaurant looks ugly from the outside, but inside the ambiance... More

Light and crispy orange peel beef, large servings, and special details like an edible flower sculpture made from jicama and beautiful colors, and a beautiful orange creation for dessert where the orange has been sliced and then placed back in a peel sculpture! The chefs were fabulous chefs in china and fabulous chefs here!

Good for Elko, but very greasy fried rice, and everything tastes very high in sodium. I can't eat here more than once every 6 months.

I had dinner at Chef Cheng's on 10/27/2012. I ordered the Hong Kong Crispy Noodles. When they arrived and I tasted it I was very disappointed. They were very soggy and none were crispy. The shrimp, beef and vegetables were cook properly, but those soggy noodles were beyond edible. I told two servers that they were soggy and they said... More

We were looking for good Chinese takeout to eat in our hotel room. The restaurant was crowded. We ordered shrimp and scallops and vegetables. Service was quick, but when we got back to the room, we found that the shrimp were barely done and the scallops were simply undercooked. We come from Florida and know what properly cooked seafood looks... More

We stopped for dinner after searching out Trip Advisor for a recommendation. We were expecting slow service based on previous reviews so we brought coloring books for our kids. The food was outstanding and the portions were huge, making it a value for a family on a budget.

The word that I would use to describe Chef Cheng's is disjointed. We saw 6 or 7 different people at our table. The service felt a little rushed and disorganized. The food was average. The portions were large. It looks like the restaurant was an old diner--it had the window that the servers picked up the food from. That and... More
