It was Memorial Day and The Star Hotel was closed so there would be no Pecan Punch for us. We decided on Toki Ona because it's the same type of food as The Star (Basque) and the parking lot was full of hungry locals. They have a full bar and a list of specials written up on a board. Portions... More

Whenever I'm in Elko I make it a point of eating here. Food is good, nothing fancy, and plentiful. Atmosphere is small-town, which I like..

Traveling to Elko, my expectations weren't very high for a unique dining experience, but this one exceeded my expectations. Not that it was the best meal ever, but I just liked the vibe and the food - between the diner-like feel and the staff and clientele that each looked like they had a fantastic life story, it made me feel... The Star was closed so we went to the Toki Ona. We ordered the ribeye steak and trout. Admittedly, the steak was huge and very good. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was disappointing and mediocre. Soup of the day was chicken pasta and when the soup arrived, there was no broth, just star pasta and bits of chicken. "Bland"... If you're interested in trying Basque food or the family dining atmosphere come to Toki Ona. The restaurant certainly isn't fancy and feels like a diner but they have great food. My boyfriend ends up with their steak and crab almost every time we go and his happy every time. You'll start with soup, usually clamp chowder or chicken pasta... More

We came on the recommendation from our hotel and enjoyed the family atmosphere with lots of good food and friendly staff. We split a dinner and still had more than we needed.

There was a group of 8 of us. We even made reservations to help them deal with us. We asked for separate checks and were told no problem. When the "check" came. . . we had to deal with figuring who owed what. It was made very clear it was our problem. The noise and commotion of the place was... More

Second time to eat at this restaurant. I forgot to tell them not to bring pasta and extra bread, etc. The main dishes are huge! We had baked lamb which was delicious. If you are getting on in age and traveling, tell the waitress to not bring the large amounts of food. I hate to waste.

We are Basque and were in town for the annual Basque festival and decided to try Toki Ona this year. The food was really delicious and the service was great! We'll definitely be returning!
