If you visit Carson City, then, be sure to try The Basil. This is Thai food at its best. We started with the chicken satay. Then, we had wonton soup which is full of vegetables, shrimp and several wonton which were stuffed full with ground shrimp and pork. Next up was roasted duck salad which was as beautiful as it... Elegant and friendly staff. Very nice atmosphere with outstanding Thai menu. We love the coconut chicken soup. Their teas are very nice. Excellent mid town eatery. Nice place to meet friends.

I arrived solo - told them I was hungry and wanted spicy food with no carbs- they brought me a glass noodle stir fry shrimp plate that set my mouth on fire - very friendly staff and pleasant restaurant - location directly on Carson city road - it was GREAT

This is my gold standard of Thai restaurants. I try Thai places whenever I'm traveling, but would be hard pressed to say I've ever eaten anywhere as good as The Basil. Food is always amazing, service is excellent, atmosphere is charming. We're regulars, so I get a hug when I come in and they start our mango rolls when we... More

The food here is very good and as authentic as you can get here in northern Nevada. My favorite are the Radnar noodles with either chicken or shrimp. Both the noodles and the sauce are first rate. The Pad Prik King is also very good.

We've been to the Basil a hand full of times and the food is always terrific. The service is fast and friendly too. My only complaint is the prices. You're spending about $15 for an entree that you can typically get for closer to $10 at other places. It also gets me that they charge for rice. If I order... More

We were looking for something different and saw good reviews as well as viewed the menu, plus it was less then a block from our location. We walked in and I immediately felt like I was back in China with the dated decor, but it was authentic and very interesting to look at! We had the Basil Sampler Platter appetizer,... More

What a wonderful surprise in Carson City. Parking is a little difficult, but don't let that stop you. Geood and sincere staff. The food is SO tasty, actually among the best I have ever had. Period. Flavorful curries, large shrimp, buttery pork, flavors abound. Awesome fresh mango roll. You cant go wrong. I promise. Click the helpful link below if... More
