Capitol city eatery

Occupying the first floor of the historic St Charles Hotel (oldest continuously open hotel in the state)is the Nevada take on an English pub. Very pretty main dining room with high beamed ceilings and a lot of wood and a dozen stools long bar. Booths and tables welcome the hungry and thirsty. I... read more

First of all, the staff is AMAZING! Johnny and Lindsey are two of the most friendly bartenders/servers I have ever encountered. The building is also very cool, being over 150 years old. But, over the last few months, the food has kind of gone down hill. The portions, especially the burgers have become MUCH smaller, while the prices have remained... More

Met friends for dinner here - food and service was good. Staff was attentive and friendly. It can get a little loud by the bar but the back room tables are better if you want to talk.

Went in expecting the best-knowing that there have been changes;my partner and I shared a Chinese Chicken Salad which consisted of little flavor; the chicken was 'warmed' over NOT freshly grilled- freshly grill is typical of this kind of salad-, in addition there was no chow mien type noodles or wonton skins -fried of course- or rice noodles or even... We visited on a Wednesday night just before Christmas. It was quiet but still had a nice atmosphere. The service was prompt, efficient & pleasant. We had the fish & chips & cottage pie, very engkish. The food was tasty & served piping hot & good sized portions enough to eat but not humongous. Not quite an English pub but... More

We decided to try it and it was ok, the building in it self is beautiful, the food was not the best and service not so good, we had to keep asking for something. So my thoughts try it and see if it has gotton better, we love wings and burgers, so we plan on trying this place one more... More

Party of three for lunch. I had the fiesta wrap and fries which I really liked. The fries were a double fried and just fabulous. One in our group had the Hawaiian burger and did not offer me a bite!! It looked juicy and I really think I will order a burger next time. One in our group ordered the... More

My family go to the Firkin and Fox a lot. It is in a historic building in the middle of Carson City opposite the Capital Building. The food is typical pub fare - pies, fish and chips, chicken wings and other favorites such as quesadillas and nachos. There really is something for every appetite and taste. It isn't fine dining... We stopped here in Carson city and got on trip advisor and tried this place out because of the reviews. Place is very quaint. Slow service, steak & mushroom pie bland. Quesadilla ok. I wouldn't stop in, you aren't missing anything extraordinary!

I was looking for a mom and pop local restaurant found this place and could not decide between the wings or fish n chips. Got the fish n chips and was really pleased with the portion size. The staff here were very friends and very social. Great selection of IPAs.
