nice enough

We visited the pub and restaurant for my dad's 65th birthday in January 2016. The pub is very 'olde worlde' as you may expect from rural Lincolnshire with some quirky features such as a Rolls Royce grille as a fire guard and stuffed animals such as badgers around the place. There was a group of... read more

Arrived on busy Saturday night without a booking, and they found a table for us,in the bar area.Warm friendly atmosphere with well trained ,smart waitresses. We had the steak and ale pie,a individual short crust pastry pie with tender meat and a selection of fresh veg and choice of potatoes. We could not fault anything and enjoyed the whole experience.

Rang them up on the off chance, " no problem , we can fit you in " was the reply. Glad we went , great food , good beer and staff with a superb ( cheeky ) sense of humour. If we`re ever out that way again will definitely pop in .

We were told about this pub by locals we met in another pub just up the road. They said the food was lovely so we thought we'd give it a try. We popped in on the off chance on a Saturday lunch time and fortunately we were lucky enough to get a table even though they were very busy. The... More

Excellent tender steak and friendly service from waitress. Initially given normal a la carte menu and had to request 'special' steak night menu (only knew about this from previously checking the Internet). Apart from this small glitch, a fine and reasonably-priced meal at a friendly venue.

4 adults and 2 children. We dined here for sunday lunch. Luckily we booked in advance as I suspect if we had just turned up we would not have been seated. The xmas decorations were still up and this lowered the roof and gave a nice snug feel to the room. Plenty of ornate decoratives and stuffed wildlife. The service... More

Visited here for lunch on a Saturday while traveling through Lincolnshire. The pub has a real old world charm and lots of character. The bar staff are warm, welcoming and friendly. There was a good selection of beer on offer but I was driving so could not sample these. The decor of the pub was very nice if not a... More

We have eaten here before and this time a table had been booked for a large family get together and despite being full the service was very good with the staff friendly and efficient, with the food of the expected high standard altogether another good evening

An extensive menu and specials board in a deservedly popular pub-restaurant. The food is traditional pub fare at a responsible price and the décor is suitably quirky & interesting. We had a hearty lunch and there were lots of other diners on a weekday lunchtime.
