Great food but not enough space between tables.

We live in Bassingham and used to love going to the bells for a treat. Over the last year sadly it has gone down hill the food quality is poor and the prices have been hiked up. I really don't mind paying for good food but I'm sorry to say the prices don't reflect the quality any more.

My parents love The Five Bells and took us for Sunday lunch. Pub itself is very quaint and nicely decorated. Menu had good choices and prices very reasonable. Meals themselves were very tasty, good portions and lots of vegetables to go with the Sunday roasts. My first niggle is after looking forward to a lovely roast beef lunch, when I... More

We had a lovely meal for our anniversary . The food was excellent , and the service first class . The charm of this pub/ restaurant is that it is in a beautiful part of rural Lincolnshire in a real old fashioned building with great charactor

We went to The Five Bells as guests of our son and daughter-in-law who had enjoyed a couple of previous visits. It was a delightful atmosphere but our experience didn't start well and was a strange mix of good and bad for the rest of the night. We entered just after 07.30 and approached the bar to claim the table... More

We visited the Five Bells Sunday lunch time and after driving round looking for places to eat we stumbled across this place. From the outside it looks like an ordinary pub but once you walk inside it is so cosy and the decor atmosphere is great, it feels like a little country pub. We didn't book but we were given... More

I added this to the wrong page originally. We had a really delicious meal at the Five Bells. The walls are adorned with curio and nicknack's. The well in the centre is lit and still contains water. All the money collected goes to charity. The food was delicious. It had a home made feel to it, generous portions and incredibly... More

Every time I visit I am never disappointed, It is worth the drive from Newark to this lovely village pub. Booking is recommended, it does tend to get fully booked quickly! (Says it all!) Sunday lunch was excellent. Service is also very good; staff are friendly. The food is all freshly cooked to order; but never wait too long. The... More

I've been a frequent visitor for more than 20 years and it never ceases to surprise me that the rural charm and character is maintained whilst the Five Bells has moved into the 21st Century.

We stopped at the Five Bells for Sunday lunch, there was a warm friendly welcome from staff, the pub is cosy and traditional with lots of oak beams and antique pieces decorating every nook and cranny add the cosy feel of the log burner keeping it all nice and warm on a very chilly day. The food was equally good,... More
