Excellent Country Eatery and Bar

I've been a frequent visitor for more than 20 years and it never ceases to surprise me that the rural charm and character is maintained whilst the Five Bells has moved into the 21st Century.

We stopped at the Five Bells for Sunday lunch, there was a warm friendly welcome from staff, the pub is cosy and traditional with lots of oak beams and antique pieces decorating every nook and cranny add the cosy feel of the log burner keeping it all nice and warm on a very chilly day. The food was equally good,... More

Just popped in for a quick bite to eat, really busy so we had quite a long wait, didn't mind. Staff were really friendly. Menu a bit disappointing, not much on it to that we liked, but you can't please everyone. We all had steak, though a little over priced were all cooked perfect. Plenty of chips, salad and vegetables,... More

We have been coming here for over 20 years, and use to spend at least 3 out of the 7 day week eating there delicious food!! Unfortunately over the years the consistency has disappeared, it is either "sublime cuisine" or "disappointingly Unacceptable"!! The last occasion, which was 3 weeks ago, my friend asked for more gravy for her dehydrated bangers... More

First time at the Five Bells, the welcome was warm and friendly and the food good. the surroundings are what everyone would imagine as a typical English village pub, oak beams, log burners etc...

I visited the Five Bells with family at Christmas; we'd talked about going here for a while and eventually managed to organise a night. The pub/restaurant is a good old fashioned "Inn" with dried hops hanging from the ceiling and a variety of ornaments hanging off the walls, something you rarely see these days compared to all the modern bars.... Spent New Year's Day with husband Doug and sister Linda at this delightfully, quaint pub The service was first class, food excellent and plenty choice. Dessert was perfect. Cost was so reasonable and overall complete success. Recommend this pub to anyone.

The 5 Bells is a lovely pub in the Lincolnshire village of Bassingham. It's full of beams and brass with log burners and interesting artefacts adorning the walls. We booked a table for Xmas Eve lunch and were shown to a nice table next to the fire and given a menu. It all went wrong from that point. The menu... More

Visited for a get together with family before Christmas , 19 of us. What a lovely pub in the village of Bassingham near Lincoln. What a great selection with varied menus to suit all (standard menu, Christmas menu and Children's menu.) All of our party commented on friendly service and quality of food that was all fresh, something rare nowadays!... More

We met friends at The Five Bells for lunch during the festive period. The festive menu/offer was not particularly attractive or tempting so we went for main course choices from the usual lunch menu. These were fish and chips, cheeseburger, scampi and sausage and mash. The order was soon turned into four dishes, each of which received the thumbs up.... More
