Wonderful place for a tourist to visit

I was on a business trip for my first visit to any part of GB. This restaurant gave me the incentive to come back for a vacation. The grounds are lovely, the restaurant is beautiful. The food was inventive and delicious. I had the hot beet salad with whipped goat cheese. It was wonderful. I... read more

Relaxed lunch with family. Really good food with the beetroot a really creative treat. Definitely recommend the peanut and banana pudding - clever and tasty.

We were three ladies who wanted a fresh and healthy lunch pre a rugby game at the Kassam Stadium. Wanting to avoid the usual stadium fayre of pies and chips we opted not to travel into Oxford and have lunch here We arrived just after 1230 and were seated quickly even though we had not made a reservation. The service... More

Excellent food excellent service. A Gastropub off the beaten track a pleasant surprise set within its lovely ornamental grounds. Reservation is the norm but I'd arrived unannounced and was delighted that they could accommodate me. It has a warm ambient atmosphere although full not noisy at all. Definitely come back here again.

Lovely relaxing lunch at The Mole. Love this place and the food is fab. We both had the lemon, pea and asparagus risotto - lovely. Beautiful garden, looking forward to visiting in the summer and sitting outside.

Enjoyed the (great value) fixed price dinner menu and found the quality of the food to be excellent - I recommend the duck main if it's on the menu. Staff were friendly and attentive. Overall would definitely recommend a visit.

Had the fillet steak which was good Others took fish of the day and the mole burger - all reviews were good I wouldn't say it is a gourmet place, but this is a great place for a lunch break set in a nice country side location, historical building and great service If you're nearby and hungry, it's worth the... The food was excellent. Really good quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. Professional service, attentive even though it was busy. Nice setting but it is very popular so book ahead. My only slight criticism is with how close the tables are packed together. I think the owners are trying to maximise revenues by turning as many covers as possible. The place... More

We arrived on Sunday afternoon and were almost turned away, but weren't. Great food, trying a little harder, with a bit more imagination, very friendly, small portions, lovely setting. This used to be called "The Temporary Sign". We're glad we came.
