Rather a mountain than a mole hill

Had lunch with colleagues last week and the food was excellent, whether it was the a la carte or the lunch snack menu we all enjoyed our food. Staff attentive and helpful. Inviting rustic interior, sufficient space between tables. Good welcome from staff. good choices from set lunches to al a carte. We arrived for a 12.30pm booking so staff well able to cope. however the restaurant became much busier and some people had fairly long waits. Food well cooked and nicely presented. will probably despite being off the beaten track.

The self-designation of 'gastropub' can be off-putting, but we found the Mole Inn to be a very pleasant lunch venue for our family. There was a good range of food, decent portions and a perfectly acceptable children's menu (for those under 8). Our 'lighter snacks' were substantial - and therefore good value. It's kept the pub feel, even if the... More

Have been several times for lunch and it was busy both times. However, the staff are very friendly and we never felt rushed or in the way. They even spent time making sure our young toddler was happy. Food is excellent and nicely presented. There are many smaller areas outside where you can eat and which feel more intimate. Recommend but... More

We had dinner at The Mole (2 of us) on Saturday 15th August. It is a very appealing Inn with a great deal of warmth and ambience. Although it was very busy, we didn't feel encroached upon by the other tables around us. Service was swift and maybe a bit peremptory but I would rather that than slow service. My... More

We have eaten here as a family for over 5 years and this last time just feel it's not the once well oiled machine it was .The setting is wonderful as is the pub premises .We had five people serve us for Sunday lunch which lacked cohesion and a feeling the staff were at sixes and sevens .Its not cheap... A lovely country pub with a cosy, traditional decor and beautiful gardens. The staff were welcoming and the service excellent. The food was very good, if a little over-priced.

Love coming here, has so much character to the restaurant and in love with the open fire place on those cold nights. Food is great and is always served with a warm smile. Scenery is beautiful as its situated in the countryside. Would defiantly recommend this place!

This was one of the very best food pubs we have been too. It has a lovely garden area were you can sit on a nice day. The inside is charming and rustic. The food is fantastic with very good friendly service. We will definitely be back and recommend it as a lovely place to dine.

A delicious meal served without hesitation when three of us turned up at 10 minutes to 9 on a Saturday evening. Unlike another hostelry about half a mile distant who were extremely brusque with us to deign to want to eat at such a late hour. The food was excellent. We chose the set menu which was extremely reasonably priced... More
