They had a very diverse Thai menu and also were very good about working with us on special menu requests. The service staff was very knowledgeable and prompt

The Blue Orchid is a good place for a nice dinner in the old federal building in downtown Lincoln. Try it, you will like it.

Wife and I came here on a date night for the first time. We were both very happy we tried it. I believe I had the Garlic and Ginger Shrimp. Very good flavors, everything was fresh. Can't remember what my wife had (she's not normally very adventurous food-wise) but she loved it too. Atmosphere was nice as well. We will... More

I like this place. Food is good and fresh and tastes great. We love the spring rolls so try them. Not a 5 start restaurant but it's definitely a place I will keep returning.

PROS: Lovely atmosphere in historical building with lovely ambience. Numerous choices on the menu, all reasonably priced except beverages which are steep, at $2.75 each. CONS: I ordered the sweet pineapple prawn, which was much too sweet to eat. Something was definitely non-Thai about the way it was seasoned, and I could have done better with a McCormick seasoning package... More

I would start by saying that I don't think average is bad and I would eat here again, but I have a lot of experience with Thai and other Asian and fusion cuisine and my meal was not in my opinion outstanding. The lunch special is an outstanding value Prix fixe $9.50 for appetizer and entree. The Thai rolls were... More

I tried two of their different drink specials - one was banana infused Jameson which sounds very weird, but went very well with Thai food. I also had a tamarind infused old-fashioned, which was delicious. My curry was a bit hotter than I was expecting, but I couldn't stop eating it, because it was still very delicious. I will definitely... More

We have eaten at the Blue Orchid four times in the last 12 months and it has never disappointed us. We have eaten at a many Thai restaurants in four states over the last three years and this is the best in food, value, and atmosphere. Parking can be tough if there are big events in the area

If you like Thai food, this is among the best I have had anywhere. The restaurant is right in the middle of downtown Lincoln, but does not have parking (a minor negative). There is, however, parking usually available nearby on 9th Street. The spring rolls are small, but wonderful. I enjoy the Perfect Trio (chicken, pork, and beef), while my... More
