Words like outstanding, exceptional, brilliant and amazing don't even begin to describe this place!!!! If you are in Lincoln, Nebraska then this place needs to be MANDATORY on your list of places to dine at. My friend and I had dinner here one evening, he opened up with the lobster bisque and I had the house salad and they were... More

Always a great place to eat. Not many tables, and their hours are limited, but their food is always excellent. Crab cake "sliders" consisted of two, rather large, crab cakes that overflowed the croissants they were served on. Yummy!!!

I went here for brunch the other day and was very pleasantly surprised. After being seated by the window, I ordered an espresso and a glass of water. The espresso was very good and was served at the perfect temperature. We order the Baked Brie for an appetizer. It was delicious. It was baked with cranberries and pears and wrapped... More

We have celebrated our wedding anniversary here the past several years. The base menu includes several items we enjoy but we often order at least one of the specials. The food is well prepared and presented. We always save room for dessert. They will prepare (in a sealed package) unconsumed wine on request we are comfortable ordering a bottle we... More

Not the place to go if you're on a tight, low budget, but your taste buds will appreciate the splurge. I had the baked brie appetizer as an entree (don't judge! I like cheese!) and then had a s'mores dessert. S'MORES in a restaurant!

We were referred to the Green Gateau...what a lovely place for a Sunday brunch!! Unaware we needed reservations we arrived very hungry and had a 35 minute wait. We decided to move on. So as we were leaving we saw some friends and engaged in conversation for 20+ minutes. I went back in and was offered an outside table! We... More

Been there three times for Sunday brunch -- probably the best menu (not buffet) brunch in Lincoln -- excellent food, good variety, good service -- reservations a must

My sense is that The Green Gateau is one of the more upscale weekend brunch places in Lincoln and, while the service was pretty good (thank you, Jordan) and the atmosphere was fine - white linen and nicely appointed - I have to say that the food made me ill. I think it was the potato pancake with cheese. It... More

While the Green Gateau is a beautiful venue and the food is quite good, we found the service to be seriously lacking. Our waitress seemed flustered and on the border line of being rude. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy with hash browns. The plate came out and the food was cold. He asked to have it warmed and... More

We had an opportunity to have a late breakfast here for my wife's birthday. What a great find! It is a little out of the way, but once you are there, you will want to settle in. Great atmosphere, great mimosas, great benidict, wonderful french doughnut thingy. We had a great time, I would like to come back for another... More
